Fortnite Season 9 Theme: Cubes, The Flipside, Zero Point & More

The Fortnite theme for Season 8 is clear, it's even right there, front and centre, as the subtitle... CUBED! This season certainly has been all about the cubes whether it's asking why they're here, why they're moving all over the map, why the golden one seems so suspicious or just who the Cube Queen is!

With so much of this season still to be uncovered, it may seem strange to already be looking forward. However, we think it's never too soon and are going to assess what the current options may be when it comes to Fortnite Season 9's theme.

Yes, we're aware that Chapter 3 could be next but we're going to kill two birds with one stone and just assume regardless of what's next, the theme could likely follow the same idea.

Thanks to some pre-season tweets from Donald Mustard, the Chief Creative Officer at Epic Games, we have it suggested that seasons 8, 9 and 10 are strongly linked. We could be in for a trilogy of seasons where the theme and story are consistent throughout.

If this is the case, then while Season 9 may not be as focused on the cubes, they may still be around on the island. This also relies on Chapter 2 not ending anytime soon! Instead, the theme could either be more focused around The Foundation or the return of the Zero Point, both of which have been teased.

We're totally on board with this as a concept and it would closely mimic the transition between the Invasion and Cubes seasons. Every Fortnite player knows that major changes between seasons are possible but unlikely as that is reserved for Chapter changes. At least, that was the case before Season 8 began and changes came thick and fast.

The scale of Season 8 and the changes that have been made are incomparable to anything from Chapter 2 so far. This leads us to believe that while Season 9 may be of great importance, the speed and scale of the changes could be slightly smaller.
