Latest - All Unvaulted Weapons
Since most of the weapons in Fortnite Season 8 are new and based on the Cubed theme, not many weapons are being unvaulted.
While we're still trying to work them all out, below is the list of unvaulted weapons we know about so far.
- Lever Action Rifle
New Sideways Weapons confirmed
In a tweet from @ShiinaBR, new weapons referred to as 'Sideways Weapons' have been confirmed. We'll know a lot more about them when the season goes live in a few hours.
Fans to decide returning weapons
According to a leak during update 18.00, fans will have the ability to choose which new weapons will be added in Season 8. This will be from a selection of old vaulted weapons and completely new ones.
Weapons that will be vaulted
We know, due to these changes, that certain weapons are almost certain to be vaulted. We expect the following weapons will be rotated out of the game come the start of Season 8;
- Pulse Rifle
- Recon Scanner
- Rail Gun
- Grab-Itron Gravity Gun
- Kymera Ray Gun
- Plasma Cannon
We are not currently expecting any of the typical weapons to be vaulted. Epic could of course surprise us with a new weapon set, but the current one is balanced enough to be kept in.
New Weapons for Fortnite Season 8
Now for the fun part, speculation about what could be added to a brand new Fortnite Season. If we are getting the Ancient Egypt theme or something like it, we have a few ideas.
Staff of Ra
This would be a casual only weapon like the Kymera Ray Gun. Imagine a staff weapon that fires out a beam of light/fire towards enemies. It would be low damage but continuous fire weapon. You could also build an LTM around this idea with a few staff placed around the map as an OP weapon but being in control of it reduces your health/shields to half.
Khopesh + Shield
We could also see a melee weapon added in the form of an Egyptian Khopesh sword and shield. A powerful weapon that is effective in close range but leaves you vulnerable if out of position.
This could be a stylised weapon that slows enemies as you hit them. It would not do much damage due to the slow effect, but if used right could incapacitate an enemy while you switch to a higher damage weapon for an elimination.
These are just a few of the ideas we had should Fortnite Season 8 lean into an Ancient Egypt or Civilization theme. We can't wait to see what comes from Fortnite Season 8 regardless and it should all kick off on Tuesday, 14 September.
