The Fortnite Season 6 downtime could last all day

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 is right around the corner, releasing on Tuesday, March 16th.

Included in the 16.00 update is the Season 5 event called "Zero Crisis Finale".

Because of this, downtime could be extremely long.

8 Hour Downtime

Usually, the downtime during Fortnite updates lasts between 90 minutes and 2 hours.

This is a pretty standard time for an update and players can be back getting Victory Royales in no time.

According to CollapseLeaks, the downtime for Season 6 could last up to 8 hours.

If the leak is correct, that means that downtime could last as long as 1pm EST/5pm GMT.

We haven't seen a downtime this long since the Black Hole event at the end of Chapter 1, although that lasted for two days.

But every other season has seen a regular downtime of no more than three hours.

As this is a leak, and from a fairly unknown account, it is hard to say whether this is true or not, I guess time will tell.

Season 5 Event

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 will conclude with its end of season event.

Only this time, it will come alongside the 16.00 update, rather than taking place the weekend before.

The event, called the Zero Crisis Finale, will be a solo cinematic experience that will see Agent Jonesy try and save the Fortnite island from the unstable Zero Point.

In a recent teaser, Agent Jonesy referenced The Seven, signalling their return.

We haven't heard from The Seven since the Black Hole event back in October 2019.

Season 6 is shaping up to be one of the most important, and story-driven, seasons that we have ever seen.
