It's exciting to see the first confirmation of its existence! We already knew that it was chronologically next, but we can often be left waiting a long time to hear anything about the state of the update.

Fortnite Season 3 Start Date

Fortnite Season 2 is taking the usual decision to end on Friday, 3 June. This strongly hints towards either an event taking place to end the event or one being used to start Season 3.

While the season may still start on Saturday or Sunday, it's not often that a new season kicks off with a big event. With the absence of a major interactive spectacle to end Season 1, it seems only right that we see something happen to end Season 2 or start Season 3.

Beyond the strange timings and dates, there is also the possibility that a 'black hole' situation is used to transition into Season 3. With the finale of Season 2 taking place on a Friday, could Epic be prepared to shut Fortnite down for a whole weekend and not start season 3 until Tuesday, 7 June?

Something similar was planned to start Chapter 3 but this was apparently cut short after large leaks came out revealing most of the surprises Epic had lined up. This has not been confirmed by Epic but feels like it's entirely possible given how much content typically leaks within the Fortnite community.

Regardless of how the season is shaping up this early, we're sure to learn more as we progress through the Resistance storyline. Should any major updates or leaks break offing better clarity on how Season 3 will launch, we'll be sure to keep you updated!
