Epic Games has just released Fortnite Season 7 into the wild and an Invasion has hit Fortnite Island. The Spire has been shattered and it's up to Rick Sanchez, Superman, and Doctor Sloane to pick up the pieces.
This is all well and good, but what about the Fortnite Season 7 event? It feels like something is missing.
LATEST - No Seasonal Event This Time
You've installed the update, the server downtime has ended, and now you're jumping into your first game. Shouldn't something happen?
Unusually, Epic Games has opted to skip any "Event" for Fortnite Season 7. We were expecting to see some sort of single-player gameplay sequence which would have you facing off against alien invaders, running from UFOs, or avoiding extraterrestrial abduction.
Instead, all players are looking at is the Fortnite Season 7 Story Trailer and then standard gameplay. This trailer is on Twitter AND YouTube, so it's probably something a lot of them have seen already.
If you haven't though, we've got it below.
Fortnite Season 7 Details
Fortnite Season 7 has introduced a few different things and it's a fully-fledged seasonal update other than the lack of an event.
Rick Sanchez and Superman are two of the collaborative skins coming to Fortnite with the Season 7 Batte Pass. The Spire has also just exploded, so there are a few minor changes to the central areas of Fortnite's Fortnite Island map.
Also, as you might have expected, the Primal weapons and equipment from last season are all extinct. There's quite a bit replacing it, though, so you won't find yourself without anything to kill people with.
All in, it looks like there's a pretty good season of Fortnite on the way. It does make us wonder though... Why was there no event?
