The layout hasn't changed a whole lot, but the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 map is pretty different from the last.
Agent Jones has called on The Seven and The Foundation for help with the Zero Point's collapse and it's caused a little bit of change to the Fortnite map.
LATEST - The Spire & Spire Assassin
One of the major map updates that are arriving in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 is the introduction of The Spire in the centre of the map.

We know that this has something to do with the plan to control the Zero Point but we can't help but think something fishy is going on...

One of the only other references we have to The Spire at the moment is the Season 6 Battle Pass Tier 100 Skin: Spire Assassin.

Whatever's going on, having an Assassin involved doesn't bode well... Right?
Season 6 Map Leaked
While the downtime for Season 6 continues, the new season's map has leaked, providing an idea of what to expect once the Zero Crisis Finale event has happened.
You can see the leaked map below, courtesy of @VastBlastt on Twitter.

As you can see, there's a huge change to the centre of the map, with six strands leading to points on the map, from where Zero Point is/was.
The points of those stands will probably be the new POIs on the Fortnite Season 6 Map.
New POIs
The new POIs, as revealed by @HYPEX on Twitter, are:
- Guardian of the Fields
- Guardian of the Sea
- Colossal Crops
- Guardian of the Bay
- The Spire
- Guardian of the Woods
- Primal Pond
- Guardian of the Lakes
- Guardian of the Mountain
Cinematic Reveal Release
Epic Games has just updated the Fortnite Twitter account with details about when we can expect the first look at the Chapter 2 Season 6 map!
We're not sure this cinematic will detail everything changing with Fortnite's map in Chapter 2 Season 6, but it will give us an exciting first look at what impact the Zero Point Crisis has had on Fortnite Island.
Agent Jones is doing everything in his powers to keep reality from falling apart in the wake of this catastrophe, but will he be able to hold on and save the day?

The elongated downtime would suggest something big is happening to Fortnite's map.
The Seven's Map Presence
With The Seven returning, which you can read about below, maybe they'll have a big impact on the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 map.
Maybe we'll see impressive new bases come to the world, acting as fun POIs to explore as you try and figure out more about the mysterious group.
It would be cool if the potential explosion of Zero Point could change the map significantly, with The Seven playing a role in shaping what is left.
The Seven Are Returning
In the latest audio log, it was revealed that Agent Jones is trying to find information on The Seven.
The Seven consist of The Visitor, The Scientist, and The Paradigm, as well as four more unknown characters.
We haven't really heard from The Seven since the black hole event at the end of Chapter 1 Season X, but it appears that their story is far from over.
The Zero Point Is Getting More Unstable
As the end of Season 5 rolls around, and the upcoming Zero Crisis Finale event, the focal point of the season, the Zero Point, has begun getting more unstable.
FortTory posted a short video of the Zero Point, stating that it is now emitting shockwaves every minute rather than every two minutes.
At this rate, the Zero Point could continue to pulse at a rate of one every three seconds by March 16th, 2021.
With it looking like its set to explode, and possibly suck the island into it again, will Agent Jonesy be able to stop it before its too late?

Fortnite Battleworld?
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 is going to start with "the conclusion of Agent Jones’ mission in the Zero Crisis Finale", right?
This, according to Epic Games, is going to "shape Reality as we know it" too.
With the current Fortnite season being essentially one giant crossover - with Master Chief, The Flash, Ant-Man, Ryu and more being added - could we see Epic Games put their crossover efforts towards creating a new Fortnite map next season?

The Borderlands 3 area of the map all those months ago was a hit with fans and creating some sort of amalgamation of all of these different pop culture worlds on one map could be the exact refresher Fortnite fans are looking for!
This would also play into the idea that the Zero Point Event is going to change reality, right? Why not mash a bunch of realities together!
Possible Season 6 Map Changes
As the first details on the new season say, "The aftermath of this event is sure to shape Reality as we know it."

Therefore, expect to see quite dramatic changes to the map you're used to.
Zero Point is going to get more and more unstable and there are theories flying around that the map could be sucked into it and a new one left its place, much like the previous Black Hole Event.

Some Fortnite fans are also speculating the arrival of a new Agency member could spark the group's return.
Finally, the desert focused area of the map could see a change, especially with Zero Point being so central to it.
Whether it replaces it or blows it up to create something new, we'll just have to wait and see.
Release Date
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 will begin on March 16, with you being able to play the single-player focused event at any time when you log in for the first time.
We'll have more on the map once changes are confirmed as part of the Chapter 2 Season 6 patch notes.
Break It Up!
Could we see Fortnite Island be broken up in the next season? A recent update from Kevuru Games has been spotted online by a few people and it appears to show a bit of what's in store for Fortnite Season 6 and the map changes we should expect.
Obviously, take this with a grain of salt until anything is confirmed but could we see Fortnite Island broken up completely? Or, pulled into some strange void by the Zero Point?

It could also just be some funky promotional art or completely fake, but it raises a lot of interesting questions.
