Football Manager 2022 Winter Update: Versus Mode comes to the game

Football Manager 2022's annual Winter Update is here, not only bringing the usual January Transfers and updated data, but also a return of Versus Mode!

Football Manager has just dropped its Winter Update, bringing the game up to date with all the latest transfers, adjusting player stats and sorting out some stability issues.

There was also a surprise in store, as Versus Mode has entered the game, letting managers battle it out against each other to show who has created the better team.

What is Versus Mode?

Versus mode is one of Football Manager 2022's multiplayer modes that allows you to export a team from your current single-player career, or alternatively, you can select an existing squad.

Versus mode allows you to test out fresh tactics against the AI, learning new things about your team along the way.

If learning isn't your thing, FM22's Versus Mode also allows you to claim bragging rights over your mates, beating their teams in head-to-head battles as you seek Football Manager supremacy.

Release Date

The Football Manager 2022 Winter Update launched on Thursday, 24 January.

Last year we saw an additional update that included February transfers, including the MLS and China, and that will be following in a few weeks.

Don't Miss Out

The update should automatically download, so there should be no excuses for you to miss out.

However, if you find that yours doesn't you need to quit and relaunch Steam or the Epic Games Store, then the download should start.

A manual search for the update may be needed if you’re playing via the Windows Store or Game Pass.
