We're saying goodbye to the Team of the Season promo in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team with the Ultimate TOTS release, and the heartstrings will be tugged on further with a special End of an Era (EOAE) event joining it!

Celebrating the careers of retiring players or the end of a run with a certain club, EOAE cards have been a staple of FUT for years.

Find out all you need to know about the EOAE promo below, including the latest news and rumours for player inclusions in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.

EOAE Promo Release Date

The EOAE event began in the same week as the Ultimate TOTS promo, starting on Friday, 9 June at the usual time of 1pm ET / 6pm BST.

This isn't like the usual promo with cards coming in packs, with it instead seeing the release of multiple items via SBCs and Objectives to complement the main squad release.

It is set to run for one week only, when the Team of the Season campaign will come to an end and the Shapeshifters promo takes over on Friday, 16 June.

End of an Era

End of an Era cards are special items given to a player in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team who has just retired from the game or come to the end of a momentous spell at one club.

Usually released via SBC, you can also gain them via Objectives, such as through the weekly Silver Stars set.

Nickycai revealed on Twitter that a special EOAE week would accompany the Ultimate TOTS release, with new EOAE items coming daily.

Although we haven't quite had daily items, several EOAE players have been released and EA has confirmed more will be on the way during the campaign.

You'd best stock up on fodder, because this event will drain your club of players, with insane stats on the way for the new items!

Predictions

Several high-profile players have announced their departure from clubs at the end of the 2022/23 season, with one mammoth of the game retiring from football altogether.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will surely be the biggest card of the event, a fan-favourite who has gained some god-tier items over the years.

At 41 years old, after numerous accolades across multiple clubs, the Swede called time on an illustrious career, finishing his time at Milan.

Karim Benzema is the other massive name who will likely be included, deciding that 14 years at Real Madrid is enough for him and being lured away by a lucrative deal to join Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad.

While in Spain he added to his four Ligue 1 titles with four La Liga trophies, five Champions League and the Ballon d'Or (among plenty of other honours).

Barcelona also has a couple of stalwarts leaving, with the long-serving Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets departing the Nou Camp.

Both now 34 years old, the two Spaniards enjoyed some of Barca's best times, and leaving will help the club financially!

Busquets gained an upgrade via SBC, with Alba following shortly after.

We also correctly predicted that Liverpool duo Roberto Firmino and James Milner would be included in the promo, with the Brazilian coming via SBC and the Englishman through Objectives.

Both were key figures in the side that challenged Guadiola's City team over multiple seasons, gaining the Champions League and Premier League in the process.

EOAE All Cards

The following players have gained an End of an Era card during the FIFA 23 Ultimate Team campaign:

Leaks

All of the leaked players we saw have made their way into FIFA 23 Ultimate Team with EOAE versions.

This means that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Karim Benzema, the two that the community were crying out most for, have not been released.

They may come at a later date, or be included in a different promo.
