READY YOUR SIDE - Tactics will be more advanced in FIFA 23

Quick Tactics, available via your D-pad, are a great way to get a fast advantage, and we want to run you through all the options available in FIFA 23.

Striker Drop Back

Striker Drop Back makes your Striker or Strikers assist when defending against the opposition.

This option is best utilised when your team are on the defensive, meaning all of your players will assist at the back.

The Striker Drop Back option will reduce your attacking options, but you will have more defensive support.

Extra Striker

Extra Striker makes another player take on the role of Striker, giving opposition defenders more to think about.

The Extra Striker tactics choose a player at random to move forward, but it will take into account your tactical presets.

This tactic will assist you offensively but can leave you short at the back.

Offside Trap

Offside Trap tells your defenders to quickly push up as a unit to catch an attacker offside.

Effective when used at the right moment, the Offside Trap tactic can also have a disastrous effect if deployed at the wrong time.

This tactic works immediately and will have instant results, either good or bad!

Team Press

Team Press makes your team apply constant pressure on your opponent.

Stamina will be lost a lot quicker than usual, so make sure you're not leaving this tactical option active for too long.

Overload Ball Side

Overload Ball Side will position many of your players on the side of the pitch where the ball is located.

This tactic can leave you exposed to a switch of play into the wide areas, but it will also permit you great control of the centre of the park.

Get in the Box

Get in the Box will instruct more players to get on the end of crosses when activated.

Whilst you will become more vulnerable to counter-attacks when this tactic is activated, you do have more of a chance of finding an attacker in a dangerous position when looking for that last-gasp equaliser.

Hug Sideline

Hug Sideline will change how your wide players position themselves.

This tactic will create a wider pitch and will give you a quick switch-ball outlet to the opposite flank.

Naturally, this tactic can leave you very exposed centrally, but is a must-use for those that like playing out wide.

Attacking Full-Backs

Attacking Full-Backs will instruct your full-backs to join the attack and offer further offensive options.

This tactic can leave you exposed on the counter, but will leave you with an extra body when moving forward.

As with most of the tactical options available in FIFA 23, you'll want to balance your use of this one.
