Sassuolo doesn't need to fear relegation this season, however, their run in May has been dire.

With three losses and a draw so far it will put a real downer on their campaign, with Domenico Berardi likely to be the only happy player in the squad.

He has scored in two and assisted in another, with his goal against Bologna securing their only point in the month!

Boulaye Dia (OVR 86)

Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia has had a great campaign in Serie A, with 16 goals and six assists in 33 matches.

Four of those goals came in May, as he started the month with a hattrick against Fiorentina in a 3-3 draw.

He secured another point for his side with his goal in the 2-2 draw against Roma.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo (OVR 90)

Napoli has stormed to the Serie A title this season, 18 points clear of second-placed Lazio (at the time of writing).

Captain Fantastic Giovanni Di Lorenzo has been an ever-present in the team, playing nearly every minute of their campaign so far.

The first game he didn't start this season was also one where Napoli lost 2-0 to Monza, showing just how important he is for the team.

He returned to the starting lineup in the next match against Inter, scoring a goal in their 3-1 victory.

Romelu Lukaku (OVR 91)

Romelu Lukaku just loves life in Italy and is the clear frontrunner for the Serie A POTM award for May.

He has been in fine form in recent weeks, and although he was left on the bench in the 6-0 thrashing of Hellas Berona, he started the next three, contributing in all of them.

He netted one against Roma and then two against Sassuolo in a couple of victories, but his fourth goal wasn't enough to get a win against champions Napoli.

Matteo Pessina (OVR 86)

Matteo Pessina has guided Monza to a mid-table finish, with the on-loan player taking up the captaincy after just one game with the club.

They are finishing the season strongly, unbeaten since the first match in April, with two draws and two wins secured in May.

An assist in the victory over Napoli and a last-minute winner in the 2-1 victory over Sassuolo have seen the Italian nominated for the Serie A POTM award.
