FIFA 23 will go through various gameplay changes throughout the season, as the developers make slight adjustments here and there to create the most balanced game possible.
We have had our first significant alteration, with Title Update #4 dropping in November, and there is a Trait your players simply must have in order to stay at the top level.

Trivela Nerf
The Trivela is a thing of beauty, watching a player hit a shot or a pass with the outside of their foot and seeing the ball arc across the pitch.
Not seen regularly within the real game, it has been abundant in FIFA 23, with users finding just how overpowered a mechanic it is!
Whether you are shooting from inside the box or out, not wanting to cross with a player's weak foot, or simply threading a through ball, it has been widely used in this game.
So much so, that in the recent Title Update #4, it has been nerfed!
As stated in the Pitch Notes:
- Reduced accuracy of outside of the foot shots by up to 30%.
That will be a blow to many gamers who use the Trivela as a main weapon in their armoury.
However, it's not all doom and gloom, as a caveat on the reduction was included...
Trait to the Rescue
If you read the Pitch Note in full, it says:
- Reduced accuracy of outside of the foot shots by up to 30%.
- Players with the Outside The Foot Shot Trait are also impacted by this change, but only by up to 10%.
That's right, although the accuracy has still been reduced for those with the Outside Foot Shot Trait, it is only by a mere 10%.
Given how overpowered Trivela shots are, that little reduction comes as a small blow, with a barely noticeable change when using them in-game.
More reductions are probably still needed, however, we must make hay while the sun shines and get the most out of this mechanic while we can!
Trivela Terrors
It will come as no surprise to see that many of the top-rated attackers possess the Outside Foot Shot Trait, including:
- Karim Benzema (OVR 91)
- Kylian Mbappe (OVR 91)
- Lionel Messi (OVR 91)
- Cristiano Ronaldo (OVR 90)
- Mohamed Salah (OVR 90)
- Neymar Jr (OVR 89)
If you haven't already got them up front, or do but don't regularly use Trivela shots, then now is the time!
