Team of the Season season is in full swing in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, with many stars being upgraded.
Whilst Ligue 1 stars haven't necessarily been at their best this year, you can guarantee that megastars like Mbappe and Messi will be further upgraded in the Ligue 1 Team of the Season squad.
That being said, not every FUT player has a huge amount of coins to throw around, meaning it's always useful to know the best base cards on offer.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the highest-rated stars from Ligue 1 in FIFA 23.

EA has confirmed the top 25 Ligue 1 players in FIFA 23, with official ratings confirmed for more players, including plenty of upgrades and downgrades.

Kylian Mbappe (OVR 91)
With another Golden Boot, another Ligue 1 title, the most assists in the league and for the club, and a new lucrative contract deal, Kylian Mbappe really is the king of Paris.
He has gained another 91 OVR rating, making him the joint-best player in the game.
Lionel Messi (OVR 91)
Lionel Messi didn't have as prolific a season as he enjoyed many times in La Liga, but still finished with the second-most assists in the league.
He didn't manage to keep hold of his 93 OVR rating, and although he drops down to a 91 OVR he still sits as the joint best around.
Neymar (OVR 89)
An injury-hit season has meant we didn't see the best of Neymar, and in updates, his rating was lowered from 91 OVR to 90 OVR.
It takes another hit ahead of FIFA 23, dropping to 89 OVR, although if he stays fit and plays well it will surely increase.
Marquinhos (OVR 88)
A FUT fan favourite, Marquinhos is a top player and has seen his rating increase during FIFA 22 updates from 87 OVR to 88 OVR.
That is how he will start FIFA 23, which means an even bigger price tag given to the defender in Career Mode and Ultimate Team!
Gianluigi Donnarumma (OVR 88)
Gianluigi Donnarumma started FIFA 22 as an 89 OVR, after winning EURO 2020 and being awarded the Player of the Tournament.
He would have needed an exceptional campaign to retain that rating, however, sharing the keeping duties with Keylor Navas has meant reduced game time and less time to shine, which will see his rating drop to 88 OVR.
Keylor Navas (OVR 88)
Speaking of goalkeepers, Keylor Navas is going to share an 88 OVR rating with his teammate.
We haven't seen anything from him that would require an adjustment of any sort, but that could change during the season if Donnarumma gets picked more often.
Marco Verratti (OVR 87)
The incredibly talented Marco Verratti will retain his 87 OVR, although we can't help but feel he has more to give.
Either way, the little Italian can control the midfield with his ability on the ball and is surprisingly effective defensively too.
Wissam Ben Yedder (OVR 84)
FUT fans will be happy that Wissam Ben Yedder has kept hold of his 84 OVR rating.
A great all-round forward, it will only be a matter of time before the special cards get released for him.
Achraf Hakimi (OVR 84)
Achraf Hakimi had a flying start to last season, with three goals and two assists in his first seven league games, however, he couldn't keep up that pace for the rest of the campaign.
He has seen his rating drop slightly to 84 OVR but will still be a favourite in Ultimate Team and Career Mode.
Sergio Ramos (OVR 84)
A partnership of Marquinhos and Sergio Ramos could have been immense, but unfortunately, injury kept the Spaniard sidelined for most of the season.
He has taken a hefty rating downgrade because of this and will come with an 84 OVR.
