Part of the challenge of unlocking these great rewards is meeting the squad requirements, and this often involves including a player of a specific rating. With that in mind, you will need to know who the cheapest 89-rated players are in the game.

As the season comes into its final stages there will be plenty of SBCs to unlock, with both players and packs as the rewards. Take a look at the cheapest 89-rated players available in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team below.

Cheapest 89-Rated Players

There are just ten 89-rated gold players in FUT 23, so it is unsurprising to see a few special cards mixed in with the cheapest items for this rating.

A couple of Fantasy FUT players currently appear on the list, but keep an eye out for FUT Hero items too, as they often become some of the cheapest around.

For the cheapest 89-rated players you are looking at shelling out around 27,000 coins on PlayStation and Xbox, a significant jump from 88-rated players.

The Premier League is home to six of the ten 88-rated gold players, with Brazilians Ederson, Allison and Casemiro useful if you're looking to build chemistry too.

SBC fodder refers to high-rated cards that are cheap in price due to either their on-pitch performance or their underrated value in the market but are useful in SBCs because of their high OVR rating.

In many cases, it can be more economical to include an 88 OVR or 89 OVR card in SBCs that require a lower-rated squad, such as an 85 or 86 squad rating, as it can significantly bump up the overall rating of the squad.
