FIFA 23 Base Icon Player Pick SBC - How to complete, cheapest solutions & more

The festivities continue in FIFA 23 with the Winter Wildcards promo ongoing in FUT 23 and Team 2 available in packs right now.

Alongside the promo squad in packs, EA is releasing plenty of SBC and Objective cards too.

To celebrate the new year, EA has dropped a giant Base Icon Player Pick Squad Building Challenge in Ultimate Team, giving players the chance to claim one of the elite cards in FUT.

So, read on to find out what the Base Icon Player Pick is all about and how you can complete it.

Base Icon Player Pick

Completing the Base Icon Player Pick SBC will grant you a one-of-three Player Pick consisting of three Base Icons, which is the lowest version of the Icon cards.

A Player Pick always gives FUT users a better chance at unlocking a top-tier card compared to if you were to open an Icon Player Pack.

As you can see, Matt hasn't got the best luck! Alessandro Del Piero is usable, however, and you're pretty much guaranteed at least one player that ca =n make it into your starting XI.

The best possible Base Icons you can unlock are as follows:

  • Pele (OVR 91)
  • Eusebio (OVR 89)
  • Johan Cruyff (OVR 89)
  • Ronaldo (OVR 90)
  • Zinedine Zidane (91)
  • Jairzinho (OVR 88)

How to complete

In order to unlock the Base Icon Player Pick, you will need to submit two different squads in the SBC menus.

The requirements are as follows:

85-Rated Squad

  • Minimum OVR of 87 : Min 1 
  • Squad Rating: Min 85
  • # of players in the Squad: 11

Pack Reward: Small Prime Gold Players Pack

Estimated Cost - 58,000 coins (PS & Xbox)

86-Rated Squad

  • Minimum OVR of 88 : Min 1 
  • Squad Rating: Min 86
  • # of players in the Squad: 11

Pack Reward: Premium Gold Players Pack

Estimated Cost - 93,000 coins (PS & Xbox)
