20 new Icons set to arrive in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team this year

With EA Play Live and several EA Spotlight events coming up, we are sure to find out more news on FIFA 22 sooner rather than later!

New Icon players are always hotly anticipated too, but who could we see added to FIFA 22 Ultimate Team?

There have been plenty of names mentioned already, with some of them 'confirmed' on social media by reliable sources.

Ultimate Team

The most popular and lucrative mode in the FIFA franchise is Ultimate Team, so this is where EA focuses its efforts.

Expect to see some new features, designs, and promo events throughout the year as EA will try to keep things fresh.

It is rumoured that several players will be returning to the game as Icon players in Ultimate Team.

We would love this to be true as the seven players named are deserving of a place among the Icon elite. Take a look at the potential new FIFA 22 Icons including Spanish maestro Xabi Alonso.

FUT Heroes Club

It looks like we could have something new in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team according to @FutWatch on Twitter.

Last year we had a 'team code' for the FUT 21 Icons, effectively showing the Icon symbol on the cards in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team.

According to FutWatch, the latest code has seen the name changed to Icons Club, with a second team name also spotted in the code!

A new 'FUT Heroes Club' has been found, which could mean a second version of the Icon cards which could include Liverpool's 2005 Champions League final hero Jerzy Dudek.

Incoming

According to @FUTZONECENTRAL on Twitter, at least 20 new Icons will be added to the game next season.

Several high-profile players have been heavily linked already, with the likes of Brazilian 2002 World Cup-winning captain Cafu and Antonio Di Natale involved.

Real Madrid legend Alfredo di Stefano is also said to be on the way, and he could be the first Icon in the game with dual-nationality!

While none of these are official, it is certainly exciting to speculate which Iconic players will be brought back into the game.

'Confirmed'

Let's take a look at which players have been allegedly confirmed as arriving in the game this season.

We have already mentioned Cafu, Di Natale, and di Stefano, and they could be joined by John Terry and Brazilian striker Adriano.

Adriano would be a hugely popular addition to the game as he has developed something of a cult following, famed for his legendary shot power back in the old Pro Evo games.

With more Icons set to be 'revealed' soon, keep an eye out on our pages for all the latest details.
