FIFA 22 TOTW 9: Harry Kane Hat Trick to earn him a leading role

It can be easy for the modern-day superstars of football to get a little bit lost during World Cup Qualifiers as the opponent's skill level can be compared to that of a FIFA 22 match between a Division 1 player and a Division 10.

This sometimes leads to star players outright not playing or maybe not giving 100% on the pitch. If the first round of this week's international fixtures shows us anything, it's that everyone wanted to put on a spectacle this time around.

There were some truly insane scorelines and more importantly, some standout individual performances. Here's three that are worthy of the FIFA 22 TOTW for Week 9.

Harry Kane

The England captain has struggled this season, only finding the back of the net in the Premier League once. Spurs fans will love what they saw from their striker against Albania as he netted a stunning perfect hat trick in the first half.

He'll be looking to take this form back to the league but this performance is more than enough to earn him a spot in the FIFA TOTW for Week 9. We would say he was nailed on for featured player too, but there's insane competition for that role this week.

Kylian Mbappe

The French superstar Mbappe has had almost the exact opposite start to his campaign when compared to Kane. He has 6 goals and 6 assists in 12 Ligue 1 games this season. It's no surprise that when France came up against Khazakstan, he was centre stage once more.

He bagged himself four goals and an assist throughout the match. It was a demolition job from France who, like many other nations this week, have taken their opponents to task and left no doubts about the difference in quality. Mbappe should feature in the team alongside Kane and may take on an LW role to accommodate them both.

Rui Patricio

Roma shot-stopper Rui Patricio almost shouldn't have to be in consideration for this spot. In a game that Portugal was expected to take control of and use to officially qualify for the 2022 World Cup as top of their group.

Instead, Patricio had to put in quite the performance to keep the Republic of Ireland at bay and maintain a clean sheet.

His performance deserved a better shift from the rest of the team but Portugal will take their point and Patricio will hopefully earn a spot in the FIFA TOTW.
