With the European competitions' Round of 16 coming to an end, several Road to the Final (RTTF) cards are due to receive upgrades in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.
The latest set of EUFA Champions League and Europa League results means three card upgrades are now confirmed to go live in FUT 22 soon, with one HUGE card missing out.
Riyad Mahrez (OVR 91 - OVR 92)
Unfortunately for Riyad Mahrez owners, Manchester City failed to win their first knockout game after the campaign launch, drawing 0-0 to Sporting at the Etihad Stadium.
The Algerian international will receive a +1 OVR, however, as City progress through to the Quarter-Finals, having won 5-0 on aggregate.
Gareth Bale (OVR 89 - OVR 91)
An incredible second-half display from Real Madrid saw the Spanish side come back from 2-0 down on aggregate to beat PSG after the Round of 16 second leg.
Despite not being involved in the match, Gareth Bale's RTTF card will be getting a +2 OVR upgrade, as Real Madrid won 3-1 on the night and progress through to the final eight.
Presnel Kimpembe (ELIMINATED)
As a result of Real Madrid's brilliant performance and the complete capitulation of the PSG defence, Paris Saint Germain are OUT of the UEFA Champions League.
This means that Kimpembe's Road to the Final card will be getting ZERO upgrades, as they did not win the first knockout match after the campaign launch or qualify for the quarter-finals.
Jason Denayer (OVR 84 - OVR 86)
Jason Denayer's Lyon put in a brilliant shift to beat FC Porto away from home in the second leg of the Europa League tie.
This means that the Belgian will receive a +2 OVR upgrade, taking his RTTF card to an 86 OVR with some brilliant stats.
RTTF upgrades explained
All Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference Road to the Final items start with an upgrade at the launch of the event.
From there, the player’s Road To The Final item receives a further upgrade each time their team succeeds at select stages throughout the tournament, as you can see in the image below.
The Road to the Final cards will be upgraded when a player's team:
- Wins 1st knockout game after campaign launch.
- Qualifies for Quarter-Finals.
- Qualifies for Semi-Finals.
- Qualifies for the Final.
- Wins the Final.
Road to the Final players do not need to be selected or have played in each stage to receive an upgrade.
If a player is no longer on the roster of a club in either tournament, they will not receive any further upgrades.
Likewise, if a player’s team gets knocked out of either tournament, they will no longer receive any upgrades.
Once a certain round of the competition is over, Road To The Final items could take up to a few days to update in-game.
