FIFA 22 Ratings Update: Barcelona players HIT HARD in latest refresh

The latest FIFA 22 ratings update has now gone live, and EA has hit one of the most prestigious clubs in the world HARD this week.

We've compiled all the main upgrades and downgrades that are now live in the latest version of the FIFA 22 squads below.

Upgrades

The following players have seen their overall rating upgraded in the FIFA 22 database.

Karim Benzema (OVR 89 - OVR 90)

Karim Benzema has been performing at a world-class level for years now and certainly deserves to be rated amongst the very top players in FIFA 22.

So, a 90 OVR rating that matches his TOTW 2 in-form version in Ultimate Team is absolutely appropriate for the French marksman.

Marquinhos (OVR 87 - 88)

PSG's Brazilian warrior, Marquinhos is a stonewall in the Parisians' side and has now established himself as one of the top defenders around.

Marquinhos' excellent start to the season, which saw him claim a place in TOTW 7 in FUT 22, has earned himself a +1 OVR upgrade in the latest update.

Leon Goretzka (OVR 87 - OVR 88)

Leon Goretzka's development since joining Bayern Munich has been incredible, and it's not slowing down just yet!

The German powerhouse has been dominating the midfield for the Champions like never before and has received a +1 OVR boost to an 88-rated card in FIFA 22.

Memphis Depay (OVR 85 - OVR 86)

Despite Barcelona struggling so far this season, Memphis Depay has been a shining light for the Spanish giants.

The Dutchman already has seven goals and two assists in just thirteen La Liga appearances so far this campaign.

David Alaba (OVR 84 - OVR 85)

Real Madrid's summer signing, David Alaba has been impressive since he arrived in Spain, to say the least!

Alaba's consistency in defence has earned himself a +1 boost to 85 OVR in FIFA 22, and we think the Austrian international could climb even higher in the weeks to come.

Downgrades

The following players have seen their overall rating drop in the latest FIFA 22 update.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen (OVR 90 - OVR 89)

As we mentioned before, Barcelona's very high standards have slipped this season, and so has the German 'keeper's, Marc-Andre ter Stegen's.

ter Stegen has by no means been poor, but EA feels that he no longer warrants a 90 OVR rating in FIFA 22.

Sergio Busquets (OVR 86 - OVR 85)

Similarly, Sergio Busquets has been fallen below his usual standard, but this also could be due to the Barca legend entering the latter stage of his career.

Busquets will be hoping that a reunion with his former midfield teammate, Xavi, can inspire a boost in form for the Spaniard.

Jordi Alba (OVR 86 - OVR 85)

Jordi Alba is the THIRD Barcelona player to be downgraded by EA during this single ratings update!

The Spanish left-back has dropped to an 85 OVR in FIFA 22 and has unfortunately lost some of his famous speed.

Wissam Ben Yedder (OVR 84 - OVR 83)

This is one that will disappoint Ultimate Team fans... Wissam Ben Yedder has been downgraded!

The good news is that this downgrade will not affect the overpowered striker's rating in FUT 22 just yet, but it doesn't bode well for next year.

Alex Sandro (OVR 83 - OVR 82)

Juventus have had a shocking start to the 2021/22 Serie A season by their standards, as they currently sit eighth in the table and 11 points off first place, Napoli.

Alex Sandro is not solely to blame, of course, but is one of a number of Juve players who has been disappointing this campaign.
