He was already announced, so we knew it was coming, but Wijnaldum can now be yours via an SBC.

To complete it you will need to submit three teams, including an 86 rated squad.

The PSG man is in a strong position to gain upgrades, playing for the strongest team in Ligue 1.

Ones to Watch

Ones to Watch cards have featured in the past couple of Ultimate Team seasons, and they will be back again in FUT 22.

If you are not sure how they work, then take a look at EA's summary below as there are some changes to the previous editions.

"As players show off their skills on the pitch for their new club, their Ones To Watch item will upgrade when they receive a performance-based in-form item such as Team of the Week and Man of the Match.
"New in FUT 22, OTW items will also be eligible for a ‘Wins to Watch’ upgrade, a one-time +1 In-Form boost if a team wins five matches out of their next ten domestic league games starting from October 1!"

Worth it?

Wijnaldum's stats are sublime, with only one attribute not in the green, and that is 70 Slide Tackle.

He is an engine in the centre of midfield, and with pace being less of a necessity in FIFA 22 is on the quick side.

What you need to judge is whether completing the SBC - which will cost around 120k - is worth it for a player you could pick up for around 6k.

Playing for PSG he is likely to get some in-forms over the season, with them clearly the best team in the league and also pushing for success in the Champions League.

The fact is, that although his card will be good with some added boosts, it is already very good.

His nationality doesn't give him the best players to link with, so you will be locked into building a Ligue 1 team around him - not the worst thing.

It is very tempting to go in early on a OTW SBC, but we would probably hold onto your players for now, as his base card is already decent enough.
