The Shapeshifters promo has taken over from Team of the Season in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, bringing a whole crop of brilliant new players to the game.
Player position changes are the main theme of the event, which can throw up some whacky new cards.

Objective Requirements
There are four tasks that need completing to unlock the 93-rated card, with the requirements as follows:
Out of Town
- Score 2 Outside of the Box goals in the Live FUT Friendly: Shifting Shape
Reward - 1 x Gold Pack
Assist to Attack
- Assist 5 goals using Attackers in the Live FUT Friendly: Shifting Shape
Reward - 1 x 75+ Rated Rare Player
Win 5
- Win 5 matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Shifting Shape
Reward - 1 x Premium Gold Pack
Score in 8
- Score using English players in 8 separate matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Shifting Shape
Reward - 1 x Electrum Players Pack
Shapeshifters
The Shapeshifters promo was first seen in FIFA 20, although it didn't reappear in FIFA 21, so we already know what sort of mechanics to expect.
As always, the promo players will receive massive boosts, but they will also have their cards transformed, with changes coming to player positions, work rates, weak foot ability, and updated attributes to better suit their new position.
A squad will be released into packs, with an objective player or two expected to be made available when the event kicks off, as well as a few SBCs coming throughout the campaign.
Shapeshifters had two squad releases in FIFA 20, and with EA specifying that a "Shapeshifter Team #1 item" can be earned through the new Objective, it looks like we should see a two-week promo coming again this time.
