FIFA 22: FGS Team of the Season Cup set to commence with $500k prize pool


The inaugural FIFA 22 Global Series (FGS) Team of the Season Cup is set to take place in the coming days, with 32 of the world’s best esports teams set to go into battle to be crowned champions.

Some of the biggest FIFA 22 names in world esports are set to compete, including former Club World Cup Champion Donovan ‘Tekkz’ Hunt, who will be representing FNATIC.

FGS Team of the Season Cup

The FGS Team of the Season Cup is set to be hosted in London this weekend!

The prize pool is set at $500,000, which is a record-matching figure for the FGS competition, with the winning team taking home $100,000.

The top two finishing teams will also earn a spot at the FIFAe Club World Cup.

The tournament will be played exclusively on PlayStation5 and in a 2 v 2 format, with teams split into eight groups made up of four teams each.

24 of the 32 teams will progress, with the top three from each group progressing to the Championship Double Elimination Bracket.

As mentioned previously, some of the biggest names in the FIFA world will be competing.

Tekkz partners up with Diogo Mendes for FNATIC, whilst the 2018 FIFA eWorld Cup winner Musaed ‘Msdossary’ Al Dossary will be playing alongside Ivan ‘DrNightWatch’ Churov for Team Falcons.

Spencer ‘Gorilla’ Ealing and Tom Leese will be representing EXCEL ESPORTS, and Brazilian duo Paulo Neto and Vini Leiva are playing for Atlanta United FC.

The Global Series Team of the Season Cup will commence this weekend on Friday, 29 April.

  • Knockout Rounds - Saturday, 30 April from 9am ET / 2pm BST – 5pm ET / 10pm BST.
  • Knockout Rounds, Semi-Finals and Final - Sunday, 1 May from 9am ET / 2pm BST – 5pm ET / 10pm BST.
