We are heading headlong into Season 8 in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team with the FUTTIES promo set to continue for potentially another four weeks.

This looks likely to be the final season in FUT 21, so expect there to be loads of great value rewards and prizes.

Will we see any quick-fire Icon-related content in the new season? We will have to wait and see.

Release Date

FIFA 21 Ultimate Team Season 8 began on Friday, 30 July, with Season 7 ending on the same date.

FIFA 22 will be released on Friday, 1 October and will run for seven weeks, ending on Friday, 10 September.

This could mean the FUT 22 Web App will be released upon the culmination of Season 8 in mid September.

Objectives

Every new season on FIFA Ultimate Team releases new objectives to work towards, and new rewards to unlock along the way.

This has continued into Season 8 with 30 levels expected to work through in 'Season Progress’.

The first few levels are always quick and easy to complete. Each objective earns XP to add to your total and there is plenty to earn.

There have been no league objective players released since Season 5 so don’t expect any in Season 8 either.

Storyline Players

As ever there are two sets of Storyline Player Picks this season, with the first set coming at level 15.

LVL 15.

  • Jan Vertonghen (OVR 90)
  • Frank Acheampong (OVR 90)
  • Georges-Kevin Nkoudou (OVR 90)

  • Julian Brandt (OVR 94)

Promo Events

The FUTTIES event has returned to Ultimate Team in Season 7, bringing back some of the best cards from the FIFA 21 Ultimate Team cycle.

The event will continue into Season 8 and possibly run for the duration.

EA has released plenty of SBC and Objectives cards in the promo and that trend looks set to continue with lots of community-themed content.

With loads more cards to come and top-rated players becoming increasingly available, this is the perfect time to strengthen your Ultimate Team.

Icon Swaps

Is there time for more Icon Swaps?

We doubt it, but there will probably be some top-pick Icon SBCs released in Season 8.

Ronaldinho and Ruud Gullit have been released in recent weeks, so we will likely see some more of the most popular Icons added to the SBC list.
