As players contracts run out on FIFA 21 Career Mode, they can be signed on a ‘pre-contract’ agreement.
This avoids paying a hefty transfer fee, although you will have to wait until the start of the new season for them to join.
You can only sign players aged 23 and over using this method too, so it is no good for picking up wonderkids.

We all know CR7 is incredible on FIFA 21, but by the end of the 2022 season his stats will have decreased on Career Mode. Still worth a punt though!

Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr is another world class forward whose contract is up in 2022.
Greap pace, dribbling and finishing attributes make Neymar Jr an exciting proposition, and at 30 years old he will have a few years left too!
Kylian Mbappe (OVR 90 – POT 95)

Value: £167 million (£182.8 million release clause)

This is the big one. Kylian Mbappe will prove too expensive for most clubs but get him on a free and you’re laughing!
Mbappe will be 23 by the time 2022 rolls around, and by then he could be FIFA 21 Career Mode’s best player.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen (OVR 90 – POT 93)

Top class keepers can be hard to come by, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen is certainly one of them!
With a 90 OVR that only gets higher, ter Stegen can be an incredible pre-contract signing in the second season of Career Mode.

Real Madrid’s fifth all-time top goalscorer, Karim Benzema is another quality striker available for free in 2022.
Benzema’s pace has never been his strength, but at 34 he could struggle. However his technical attributes are still likely to be excellent if you think you can get the best out of him.
Paulo Dybala (OVR 88 – POT 89)

One of the best creative players available in FIFA 21.
Paulo Dybala excels in the second striker role or as an attacking midfielder with his blend of pace, dribbling and vision.

Luis Suarez is another ageing striker who could be physically very poor by 2022 on Career Mode.
With 68 Sprint Speed already the former Liverpool striker will never be rapid. That being said, 92 Finishing will still make him clinical in the box.
