Defending domestic champions Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Celtic all lost this weekend in a David and Goliath free-for-all. One thing seems to be a certainty this season though, Liverpool just keep winning!
The Team of the Week (TOTW) this time around should include some heroes from the weekend’s upsets, as well as some old-time favourites such as the ageless Jermain Defoe.
Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid look to be hitting their stride too so we could see more of their players in the weeks to come.
Each week, EA will select a squad of 23 of the best performing players from the past seven days and give them in-form (IF) cards which have increased ratings.
These players form the TOTW which is available to challenge for coins on FIFA Ultimate Team.
These players are also available in packs and on the transfer market, so look out for them!
Salvatore Sirigu (OVR 84 – IF 86)
Former PSG shot-stopper Salvatore Sirigu helped Torino shut out Italian giants Napoli as they held them to a 0-0 draw. The 32-year-old showed why he is still highly rated after an excellent display kept Torino just three points behind their rivals from Naples.
Sirigu should get an IF card with an 86 OVR. His basic 84 OVR card is available for just under 3,000 coins on both PS4 and Xbox One.
Nikola Milenkovic (OVR 76 – IF 80)
Serbian centre back Nikola Milenkovic was Fiorentina’s match winner this weekend with his 72nd minute strike proving the difference. Milenkovic helped to limit Udinese to just one shot on target in the 90 minutes as Fiorentina were rarely troubled.
Serbian giant Milenkovic could get a boost to 80 OVR this week. The 6’5” defender is available for just 450 coins on PS4 and 750 on Xbox One.
David Luiz (OVR 83 – IF 86)
Brazilian defender David Luiz got his Arsenal account up and running with the only goal of their 1-0 win over Bournemouth. Luiz’s winner leaves the Gunners in third place heading into the international break, just one point behind current champions Man City.
The crazy haired Brazilian could get an IF card of 86 OVR, while his basic card is available for 6,000 coins on PS4 and 6,400 on Xbox One.
Achraf Hakimi (OVR 79 – IF 83)
Three goals in a week took Achraf Hakimi’s tally to four goals this season already, an outstanding return for the on-loan fullback. Despite not being able to secure the win for Dortmund this weekend, Hakimi’s performances this week should see him force his way into the TOTW conversation.
Pacey Hakimi could see his overall boosted to 83 on this week’s TOTW. His basic 79 OVR card is available on the FUT Transfer Market for 5,000 coins on PS4 and 4,400 on Xbox One.
Adama Traore (OVR 74 – IF 80)
Adama Traore boasts pace and power in abundance and showed what he is capable of with two late goals against Man City at the Etihad this weekend. The mercurial winger isn’t always consistent but was at his devastating best on Saturday to give Wolves back-to-back victories.
Lightning quick Adama could receive an IF card with 80 OVR which will possess astounding pace. The Spaniard’s base card costs 14,000 coins on PS4 and 12,000 on Xbox One.
Carlos Vela (OVR 83 – IF 85)
Mexican superstar Carlos Vela continued his superb 2019 MLS season with a hat-trick, taking his tally to a record-breaking 34 goals in just 31 matches. Vela has been deployed more centrally in recent weeks and could result in a positional change should he receive a place in TOTW 4.
Vela’s IF CF card could be rated 85 OVR, his basic RW card is available for 2,800 coins on PS4 and 2,100 on Xbox One.
Sargis Adamyan (OVR 74 – IF 80)
Another of this week’s giant slayers, Sargis Adamyan’s double saw Hoffenheim beat a Bayern team who put seven goals past Spurs in midweek. In just his third appearance of the season, Armenian international Adamyan provided a timely wake-up call to the Bavarian giants with his clinical display.
Adamyan should make it into this week’s TOTW and could get a big boost to 80 OVR. His base card is available to purchase for around 7,000 coins on PS4 and 4,000 on Xbox One.
Patrick Herrmann (OVR 77 – IF 82)
Two goals and an assist capped off a fine individual performance by Patrick Herrmann as Borussia Monchengladbach dismantled Augsburg’s defence in their 5-1 victory. Herrmann the German is yet to lose in the Bundesliga this term having been kept on the bench for the first three games of the season.
Herrmann could get an IF card with 82 OVR as a reward for his performance. His basic card is available for between 1,300-1,500 coins on both consoles.
Jermain Defoe (OVR 76 – IF 80)
Ex-England striker Jermain Defoe continues to show his goal scoring instincts with a superb treble for Scottish giants Rangers. The 37-year-old’s second hat-trick of the season took Rangers to the top of the Scottish Premiership following Celtic’s shock defeat to Livingston.
Defoe’s seventh, eighth and ninth goals of the season should see him receive an IF card of 80 OVR. His basic card will cost you just 700 coins on both consoles.
Luis Suarez (OVR 89 – IF 90)
Luis Suarez scored one of the season’s outstanding goals so far with an acrobatic overhead kick which saw the start of a vintage Barcelona display. The Catalan giants blew Sevilla away 4-0 with some excellent attacking football with Lionel Messi himself rounding off the scoring with a delightful free-kick.
Suarez may be rewarded for his display with a 90 OVR IF card. His basic card is worth around 85,000 coins on both consoles.
Ciro Immobile (OVR 86 – IF 88)
Italian hitman Ciro Immobile keeps on churning out goals. The 29-year-old took his tally to seven goals in Serie A with two against Bologna as Lazio struggle for consistency. Immobile also scored in Europe making it three goals in a week for the in-form forward.
Lazio striker Immobile could be set to receive an IF worth 88 OVR. He is available on the FUT Transfer Market for 14,250 coins on PS4 and 13,000 coins on Xbox One.
