FIFA 19 TOTW 18 predictions (Team of the Week 18)

It is a quiet time in European football at the moment with domestic action only taking place in England, France, Spain and Portugal whilst Germany, Italy and the Netherlands enjoy their winter break. We do have the January transfer market to enjoy however, which is starting to gather pace with names such as Pepe, Naldo and Cesc Fabregas all on the move.

On the pitch, we have still seen quality performances, making the FIFA Ultimate Team of the Week as competitive as always. A squad of 23 in-form players will be released on Wednesday, January 16 at 6pm GMT. You can challenge the side for a coin bonus on Ultimate Team, or try to get the players for yourself by hunting in packs from the FUT store. Alternatively, you can buy and sell them individually from the transfer market.

RealSport predicts who could make the TOTW this time around.

David De Gea (OVR 91 – IF 92)

David De Gea put in the best goalkeeping performance of the Premier League season so far with a truly masterful performance for Manchester United against Tottenham. 11 saves by the Spaniard ensured the Red Devils left Wembley with a 1-0 victory, interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has six wins from his first six games in charge of United.

If selected, De Gea’s 91 overall should creep up to an in-form 92. His base card will set you back 132,000 coins on PS4 and 118,000 on Xbox One, with a 92 Champions League item worth 330,000 on PS4 and 335,000 on Xbox One. A 92 UCL Road to the Final card which will increase after each Champions League stage costs 326,000 on PS4 and 347,000 on Xbox One, whilst his insane 97 TOTY rating requires 880,000 coins on both consoles.

Marquinhos (OVR 84 – SIF 87)

Marquinhos has often been deployed as a defensive midfielder this season for PSG, but the Brazilian returned to centre half in a back three for the French champions. The defender picked up a goal for his troubles in a 3-0 victory over Amiens meaning the Parisians lead Ligue 1 by just 13 points with two games in hand.

Marquinhos should receive his second TOTW card of the season which should see his rating improve from 84 to 87 this week. His base card is valued at 6,500 coins on PS4 and 8,100 on Xbox One, with his 85 Champions League item costing 26,750 coins on PS4 and 30,500 on Xbox One. His previous 87 in-form card from TOTW 7 is worth 78,000 on PS4 and 82,500 on Xbox One.

Kurt Zouma has had to battle injury and two other quality centre halves in Michael Keane and Yerry Mina for minutes following his loan move to Everton, but the Frenchman showed his class in the 2-0 win over Bournemouth. The Chelsea loanee opened the scoring for the Toffees whilst also being solid in defence to keep the clean sheet intact.

Zouma’s 78 overall rating could now rise to 82 for the Team of the Week, and you can claim the 24-year-old’s base card for 900 coins on PS4 and 950 on Xbox One.

David Luiz (OVR 83 – IF 85)

After a woeful performance against Tottenham in November, David Luiz has pulled his socks up and is proving to be an asset for Chelsea in attack as well as defence. The Brazilian assisted Pedro brilliantly for the Blues’ opener in the 2-1 win over Newcastle, which has helped open up a six point gap between themselves and fifth placed Arsenal.

Luiz’s 83 overall should now rise to 85, and you can pick up his base card in Ultimate Team for 2,800 coins on PS4 and 2,900 on Xbox One.

Nicolas Pepe (OVR 75 – TIF 85)

Nicolas Pepe is having a tremendous season for Lille, helping the side that were flirting with relegation last season move up to second in Ligue 1. The Ivorian scored one and set up two more in the 3-1 win over Caen, stretching their gap over third-placed Lyon to four points.

Pepe’s 75 overall could hit a third in-form rating of 85 this week, with his base card costing 750 coins on PS4 and 600 on Xbox One. His 84 second in-form card requires 27,500 coins on PS4 and 31,500 on Xbox One.

Dani Ceballos has had to be patient for his opportunity at Real Madrid, but with the side under-performing this season he has been handed minutes by new boss Santiago Solari. The central midfielder came off the bench to net a free-kick winner in the 2-1 victory over Real Betis.

The Spanish Ceballos should be rewarded with a TOTW appearance and see his 78 overall rise 82. You can pick up his base card for just 500 coins with a 79 Champions League item costing 2,000 on PS4 and 2,800 on Xbox One.

Declan Rice (OVR 69 – IF 79)

Declan Rice picked up his first West Ham goal in the shock 1-0 victory over Arsenal, typifying how good the youngster has been this season. His position switch from centre back to defensive midfield has worked perfectly, causing the England setup to become interested in Rice, who has three friendly appearances for the Republic of Ireland.

Rice’s 69 overall deserves to rise to 79, and you can claim the Irishman’s silver base card for 500 coins on PS4 and 1,300 on Xbox One.

Willian (OVR 84 – SIF 87)

Willian has received critics of late from Chelsea fans, with a move rumoured to Barcelona, but the Brazilian put that to bed after scoring a fantastic winner in the 2-1 victory over Newcastle at Stamford Bridge. With Maurizio Sarri likely to lose Eden Hazard in the summer, Willian and Pedro are both the wrong side of 30 and Callum Hudson-Odoi is being tempted by Bayern Munich, the wide options could look very different next season in West London.

Willian’s 84 overall should now rise to a second in-form rating of 87 this week, with the right winger moving over to the left. His base card costs 5,500 coins on PS4 and 6,100 on Xbox One, with an 86 LW in-form worth 157,000 on PS4 and 156,000 on Xbox One.

Inaki Williams (OVR 81 – IF 84)

Inaki Williams has been having a fantastic season for Athletic Bilbao, with the striker netting his 10th and 11th goals of the campaign in the 2-0 victory over Sevilla. His second goal was a scintillating solo run from the halfway line, which has helped Athletic up to 15th place and three points clear of the relegation zone.

Williams’ 81 rating could now hit 84, with the Spaniard’s base card costing 1,100 coins on PS4 and 1,200 on Xbox One.

Luis Suarez (OVR 91 – SIF 93)

More goals for Luis Suarez, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone these days. The Barcelona striker scored twice and picked up an assist in the 3-0 win over Eibar, keeping the champions’ five-point gap at the top of the table in Spain.

Suarez’s 91 overall rating should improve to a second in-form rating of 93 this week, with his base card worth 175,000 coins on PS4 and 155,000 on Xbox One. His 92 Champions League item will set you back 361,000 on PS4 and 340,000 on Xbox One, whilst a 92 in-form from TOTW 7 is valued at 375,000 on PS4 and 379,000 on Xbox One. Lastly, a 93 UCL Road to the Final card costs 1.4 million on PS4 and 1.5 million on Xbox One.

Raul de Tomas may not be a name you are familiar with, but the Rayo Vallecano man had the greatest output this week thanks to his hat trick in the 4-2 victory over Celta Vigo. The win closes the gap on their opponents from five to two points, with Vallecano now up to 18 points and Celta lying a spot above them, just outside the relegation zone.

De Tomas’ goals mean his 76 overall should rise to around 81, and you can claim his base card for just 500 coins on PS4 and 550 on Xbox One.
