Team of the Week 22 (TOTW) predictions

The Champions League returns this week, so it was vital that this past weekend the big hitters in Europe took form into the European competitions. In the Premier League, Manchester was where the action took place, with champions elect City smashing Leicester 5-1, and United putting in a flat performance in a 1-0 loss to Newcastle.

Over in Spain, Barcelona’s lead was cut to seven points after drawing 0-0 with Getafe, and Real Madrid returned to form in a 5-2 win over Real Sociedad. Bayern Munich weren’t at their best in a 2-1 win over Schalke, but it doesn’t matter at this point with Bayern 18 points ahead in the Bundesliga. The goals flowed in Italy as Roma hit five past Benevento, and both AC Milan & Napoli bagging four in big victories. Monaco’s 4-0 win over Angers just about keeps them in the title race, trailing PSG by 12 points with 13 games to play.

So, in all those superb results, who has done enough to earn themselves a spot in the FIFA 18 Team of the Week? Those selected will receive an in form card with a ratings boost, which will be released at 6pm on Wednesday, February 14. The in form players can be found in Ultimate Team packs and on the FUT transfer market.

Vicente Guaita (OVR 73 – IF 80)

Barcelona may not have been at their flowing best against Getafe, but the visitors to the Camp Nou still had to rely on the work of their goalkeeper to earn a massive point. Vicente Guaita made six saves in the 0-0 draw, keeping Getafe in 10th place, just six points off the European places.

Guaita’s performance could take his 73 silver rating to an in form gold, and his normal card is currently priced at 750 coins on PS4 and 2,000 on Xbox One on the FUT transfer market.

Ivan Ramis (OVR 77 – IF 83)

Staying in Spain, centre back Ivan Ramis grabbed an injury time winner for Eibar as they snuck past Leganes 1-0. Eibar are now flying in the league after a four-match unbeaten win, sitting in seventh and just one point off the European spots.

Ramis has a 77 rating on Ultimate Team, and we expect this to rise in 83 this Wednesday. His normal card will set you back 400 coins on PS4 and 800 on Xbox One.

Jose Luis Palomino (OVR 73 – IF 80)

There was also a late goal in the 1-1 draw between Atalanta and Crotone, with centre back Jose Luis Palomino grabbing the equaliser for Atalanta. It gives La Dea a platform as they lock horns with Borussia Dortmund this coming Thursday.

The Argentine Palomino is rated at 73 on Ultimate Team, which could increase to a superb 80 rating this week. His normal card is valued at 1,000 coins on PS4 and 1,200 on Xbox One.

Nicolas N’Koulou (OVR 78 – SIF 84)

Torino are contending with Atalanta for European football next season, and their 2-0 victory over Udinese took them up to ninth place. Centre back Nicolas N’Koulou opened the scoring for the home side, heading home Iago Falque’s corner.

With already one in form card behind him this season, Cameroon international N’Koulou should see his 78 overall rating improve to 84 this week. His normal gold card will cost 800 coins on PS4 and 950 on Xbox One, and his 82 in form will set you back just under 20,000 coins on both consoles.

Cengiz Under (OVR 74 – IF 83)

Two wins on the bounce have got Roma looking up the table once again, with the 5-2 thrashing of Benevento taking them back into fourth position. Young Turkish international Cengiz Under was the star, scoring two goals and grabbing an assist which should lead to more starts for the remainder of the season.

Under’s 74 overall rating could travel to 83 for the Team of the Week, and you are looking at a price of 2,900 coins on PS4 and 3,300 on Xbox One for the right midfielder’s maximum silver card.

Kevin De Bruyne (OVR 89 – SIF 92)

Kevin De Bruyne may now have one hand on the Premier League player of the season award, with the Belgian assisting three goals in Manchester City’s 5-1 win over Leicester. That trifecta of set-ups takes the midfielder to 14 for the season, four more than any other player.

De Bruyne should move from attacking to central midfielder this week, with his rating of 89 likely to be boosted to 92. His normal card will cost 180,000 coins on PS4 and 165,000 on Xbox One. KDB’s 90 in form card is valued at 612,000 on PS4 and 940,000 on Xbox One, and his 91 Team of the Group Stage item costs 739,000 on PS4 and 719,000 on Xbox One. The maestro’s 96 Team of the Year card will set you back you an enormous 1.9 million coins on PS4 and 2.7 million on Xbox One.

Thiago Mendes (OVR 74 – IF 80)

Nantes had to work hard for their share of the points in the 2-2 draw with Lille, twice coming from behind. Thiago Mendes assisted both his side’s goals, but with the club 10 points off the European places in fifth, they have a lot to do in the final 13 fixtures to break into the top four.

Defensive midfielder Mendes should see his rating rise from 74 to around 80 following his superb performance. The Brazilian’s normal card costs 1,500 coins on PS4 and 2,900 on Xbox One.

Florian Kainz (OVR 74 – IF 82)

Florian Kainz was the difference between Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg at the weekend, with his two goals ensuring a 3-1 victory for Werder. The left midfielder’s brace takes his side three points above relegation play-off place, and with just one loss in five Die Werderaner can be confident of beating the drop.

Kainz’s efforts could take his maximum silver 74 rating all the way up to 82, and the Austrian currently costs 2,900 coins on PS4 and 3,500 on Ultimate Team.

Maximiliano Gomez (OVR 70 – IF 81)

Celta Vigo and Espanyol played out a superb 2-2 draw, and Celta have striker Maxi Gomez to thank for claiming a point. Gomez’s brace looked to have won it for the home side, but Gerard Moreno killed the party with an equaliser three minutes from time.

Gomez could still receive a Team of the Week card, and we expect his 70 rating to improve to something around 81. His normal rating will cost you just 350 coins on PS4 and 500 on Xbox One.

Sergio Aguero (OVR 89 – SIF 93)

Harry Kane looked to be running away with the Premier League golden boot, but four goals for Sergio Aguero against Leicester have put him right back in the running. The Argentine’s quartet of strikes put him two behind Kane with 21 goals for the season, with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah on 22.

Striker Aguero should receive an increase of four to a 93 rating this week, and his normal 89 card will set you back 373,000 coins on PS4 and 340,000 on Xbox One. A 90 in form is priced at 1.2 million on PS4 and 1.3 million on Xbox One, and his 91 TOTW card costs 894,000 coins on PS4 and 829,000 on Xbox One. For his highest rated 92 card you will need to fork out a massive 1.3 million coins on PS4 and 1.2 million on Xbox One.

Cristiano Ronaldo (OVR 94 – SIF 96)

It’s not been the best of seasons for Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid, but a hat trick has come at the perfect time with the Champions League knockout stages right around the corner. Ronaldo helped Los Blancos to a 5-2 victory over Real Sociedad, prepping them for a Valentine’s Day clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Portuguese star should improve from 94 to 96 this week and move from left wing to striker, and that normal rating will cost you a huge 1.8 million coins on PS4 and 1.6 million on Xbox One. His 95 Team of the Group Stage striker card is priced at 3 million coins on PS3 and 2.8 million on PS4, and his Team of the Year 99 item is an outrageous 5.1 million on PS3 and 4.6 million on Xbox One.
