Ultimate Team players will have enjoyed the Ones To Watch players that were brought in on FIFA 17. The Ones to Watch (OTW) are players that were signed during the transfer window, and one to keep an eye on throughout the season. Whenever an OTW makes the Team of the Week, their OTW black card will then match that Team of the Week (TOTW) rating. For instance, Gonzalo Higuain chalked up four TOTW appearances over last season, which took his rating from 88 to 93. Neymar (OVR 92), Leonardo Bonucci (OVR 88), James Rodriguez (OVR 86) and Romelu Lukaku (OVR 86) have already been announced as Ones to Watch for FIFA 18, so we look at which new signings are likely to join them.

Alvaro Morata (OVR 84)
It’s been a pretty perfect start for Alvaro Morata following his £58 million move from Real Madrid to Chelsea. The Spanish international has ignored the Diego Costa situation at Stamford Bridge, notching three goals and two assists in his first five games for the club. If Chelsea are to defend their title this season, they will be reliant on the 24-year-old’s goals this season, and it is his chance to prove that he can be a top club’s premier striker. Morata is rated at 84 on FIFA 18, improving by two from last year, with his pace now 83 and shooting 80.
Bernardo Silva (OVR 84)
Whereas Morata looks to be an instant hit in the Premier League, new Manchester City man Bernardo Silva will have to bide his time. The £43 million summer signing from Monaco has had to be patient for his chance at The Etihad, starting just two of City’s games this season. With 10 goals, 10 assists and three man-of-the-match awards in France last season, don’t be surprised if the Portuguese international forces himself into Pep Guardiola’s first choice line-up. The 23-year-old’s 84 rating on FIFA 18 is an improvement of two from FIFA 17, with his dribbling his premier skill with an 86 rating.
Kylian Mbappe (OVR 83)
After Neymar’s £198 million move to Paris Saint-Germain, his new teammate Kylian Mbappe’s transfer from Ligue 1 rivals Monaco has been slightly forgotten about. The French sensation joins PSG on a loan signing with an obligation to buy for £166 million next season. The 18-year-old bagged 26 goals last season as Monaco lifted the Ligue 1 title, and he looks to repeat the trick in Paris this season. The forward has already made a solid start with two goals in his first three fixtures. Mbappe’s new 83 rating is an improvement of a massive 12 from FIFA 17, with his pace now an electrifying 90 and dribbling at 84.
Ousmane Dembele (OVR 83)
Another man who lit up last season and secured a big move is Barcelona new man Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman scored eight goals and chalked up a massive 18 assists with Borussia Dortmund last season, earning a £93 million move to giants Barcelona. Things have sadly not gone to plan for the 20-year-old, who has been ruled out for four months following a hamstring injury. Dembele improves by three on his FIFA 17 rating, with his pace and dribbling topping Mbappe’s, with 91 and 88 ratings respectively.
Mohamed Salah (OVR 83)
It may be a little early to say, but Mohamed Salah has been the signing of the Premier League season so far, with the Egyptian racking up four goals, an assist and two man-of-the-match awards in just six matches for Liverpool. The winger joined from Roma for a fee of around £37 million, and given the amount of money that was being thrown around in the summer, that may be regarded as a bargain at the end of the season. Salah, 25, improves by one overall point to 83 on FIFA 18, with his pace improving by one to 93 and his dribbling remaining at 86.
Javier Hernandez (OVR 82)
Javier Hernandez for £16 million is an absolute steal. The new West Ham striker bagged 39 goals over two seasons at Bayer Leverkusen and is perhaps one of the finest poachers in world football. Two goals in three league games is a promising start at the London Stadium, but whether The Hammers can play to Chicharito’s strengths is the one question mark. The 29-year-old’s level drops by one for FIFA 18, with his pace falling by four to 79.
Gylfi Sigurdsson (OVR 82)
New Everton man Gylfi Sigurdsson has one of the best right foots in the Premier League, with the Icelandic superstar racking up 26 assists and 27 goals for Swansea over the past three seasons. The attacking midfielder moved to Merseyside in a £40 million move over the summer and made a huge impact on debut by hitting one in from around 50 yards in a Europa League qualifier. The playmaker sustains his 82 overall rating for FIFA 18, with his passing improving by two to 84.
Corentin Tolisso (OVR 82)
Few had heard of Corentin Tolisso outside of France last season, but the midfield utility man was the star for Lyon finished fourth in Ligue 1. Following 14 goals and seven assists, French international Tolisso moved to Bayern Munich in a £37 million move. The 23-year-old's arrival forced Bayer to loan out Renato Sanches, who now may never return to the Bundesliga. Central midfielder Tolisso improves by two for FIFA 18, with none of his six Ultimate Team stats below 74.
Wayne Rooney (OVR 81)
It’s a strange one, but despite being Manchester United’s and England’s record goalscorer, Wayne Rooney still has a point to prove. Former England captain Rooney returned to boyhood club Everton on a free transfer in the summer and has looked in the mood. With Romelu Lukaku going the other way to Manchester United, Rooney looks to be The Toffee main outlet this campaign, and a healthy goal return from the 31-year-old would silence the doubters. Rooney’s overall harshly drops by three on FIFA 18, with his physicality falling by five to 81.
Youri Tielemans (OVR 80)
With Monaco selling many of their Ligue 1 champions last season, not much attention was who they were bringing in. Youri Tielemans looks to be a terrific signing, with the Belgian joining from Anderlecht in a £22 million deal. The 20-year-old central midfielder is one of Europe’s hottest prospects, and he loves to get forward as shown by his 18 goals last season. Tielemans improves by three to 80 for FIFA 18, with his passing now 80 and shooting at 79, an increase of three and six respectively.
