Which young goalkeepers should you invest in on FIFA 21 Career Mode?

Latest News – Next Gen has arrived!

The Xbox Series X and PS5 are out now, although FIFA 21 is not available just yet.

Gamers in the UK will be receiving their PS5's on Thursday, 19 November with it already available in some locations.

Gianluigi Donnarumma (OVR 85 - POT 92)

Donnarumma

Age: 21

Value: £84.2M (£159.9M Release Clause)

Wage: £31k

Now this is one for those of you working at a club with a big budget.

Despite his Serie A experience, Donnarumma is still just 21-years of age. With a £159.9M release clause he won't come cheap but, with the potential to rise to a 92 OVR, he could be a very worthwhile investment.

Andriy Lunin (OVR 75 - POT 87)

Lunin

Age: 21

Value: £10.8M (Release Clause £21.8M)

Wage: £45k

Now this is a more feasible transfer fee.

Real Madrid's young stopper Andriy Lunin may begin his FIFA 21 Career Mode life as a 75 OVR but he has bags of potential, rising to an 87 should he fulfill it.

You should be able to barter down from that £21.8M release clause, a good option for a mid table Premier League club.

Marteen Vandervoort (OVR 68 - POT 87)

Age: 18

Value: £2.4M (Release Clause £5.2M)

Wage: £495

Now if you're not too bothered about a starting rating, then you'll find an absolute bargain in Marteen Vandervoort.

The 18-year-old has a value of just £2.4M and a measly wage of just £495 p/w. With his potential as high as 87 OVR you've got yourself a steal.

Luís Maximiano (OVR 78 - POT 85)

Luís Maximiano 2

Age: 21

Value: £22.1M (Release Clause £48.5M)

Wage: £7k

As far as young goalkeepers go there are certainly better options that Luis Maximiano.

The Sporting stopper has a pretty high value and release clause given his 85 potential. We wouldn't recommend going after this one.

Alban Lafont (OVR 78 - POT 84)

Lafont 2

Age: 21

Value: £16.7M (Release Clause N/A)

Wage: £23k

You won't be able to purchase Lafont straight off the bat, as he is currently on loan at FC Nantes.

With that being said he is in a similar boat to Maximiano in that there are much better options available at a much lower cost. Another one to avoid.

Lucas Chevalier (OVR 61 - POT 83)

Chevalier

Age: 18

Value: £855k (Release Clause: 2.5M)

Wage: £450

At 6'4" Lucas Chevalier is a commanding figure between the sticks.

With a value of less than £1M and a wage of just £450, Chevalier could be a great addition to any lower league side. With the potential to grow to an 83 OVR, he could help see you all the way through to the top flight.

Nico Mantl (OVR 69 - POT 83)

Mantl 1

Age: 20

Value: £2.6M (Release Clause: £5.4M)

Wage: £2k

Nico Mantl is very similar in terms of his ability to Chevalier, just with a higher OVR to begin with!

If you have a bit of a higher budget then by all means, opt for the German stopper, but if you're looking to save your cash then Chevalier is the better punt.
