Signing players on pre-contract agreements is a great way to sign top players on Career Mode.
Check out the best players available at the end of the second season on FIFA 21.
As players contracts run out on FIFA 21 Career Mode, they can be signed on a ‘pre-contract’ agreement.
This avoids paying a hefty transfer fee, although you will have to wait until the start of the new season for them to join.
You can only sign players aged 23 and over using this method too, so it is no good for picking up wonderkids.
Cristiano Ronaldo (OVR 92 – POT 92)
Position(s): ST, LW
Value: £56.7 million (£68.3 million release clause)
Cristiano Ronaldo has begun the 2020/21 season in great from, scoring three goals in just two games.
We all know CR7 is incredible on FIFA 21, but by the end of the 2022 season his stats will have decreased on Career Mode. Still worth a punt though!
Neymar Jr (OVR 91 – POT 91)
Position(s): LW, CAM
Value: £118.8 million (£149.9 million release clause)
Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr is another world class forward whose contract is up in 2022.
Greap pace, dribbling and finishing attributes make Neymar Jr an exciting proposition, and at 30 years old he will have a few years left too!
Kylian Mbappe (OVR 90 – POT 95)
Position(s): ST, LW, RW
Value: £167 million (£182.8 million release clause)
This is the big one. Kylian Mbappe will prove too expensive for most clubs but get him on a free and you’re laughing!
Mbappe will be 23 by the time 2022 rolls around, and by then he could be FIFA 21 Career Mode’s best player.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen (OVR 90 – POT 93)
Value: £99 million (£132.9 million release clause)
Top class keepers can be hard to come by, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen is certainly one of them!
With a 90 OVR that only gets higher, ter Stegen can be an incredible pre-contract signing in the second season of Career Mode.
Karim Benzema (OVR 89 – POT 89)
Position(s): CF, ST
Value: £75.2 million (£97.8 million release clause)
Real Madrid’s fifth all-time top goalscorer, Karim Benzema is another quality striker available for free in 2022.
Benzema’s pace has never been his strength, but at 34 he could struggle. However his technical attributes are still likely to be excellent if you think you can get the best out of him.
Paulo Dybala (OVR 88 – POT 89)
Position(s): CF, CAM
Value: £98.1 million (£110.2 million release clause)
One of the best creative players available in FIFA 21.
Paulo Dybala excels in the second striker role or as an attacking midfielder with his blend of pace, dribbling and vision.
Luis Suarez (OVR 87 – POT 87)
Value: £45.9 million (£58.1 million release clause)
Luis Suarez is another ageing striker who could be physically very poor by 2022 on Career Mode.
With 68 Sprint Speed already the former Liverpool striker will never be rapid. That being said, 92 Finishing will still make him clinical in the box.
Hugo Lloris (OVR 87 – POT 87)
Value: £23.4 million (£46.2 million release clause)
French star Hugo Lloris has been a top goalkeeper for many years, but he won’t be getting much better on FIFA 21.
Lloris will still have a few years left in him, so any club looking for a short-term fix in 2022 should take note!
Dani Carvajal (OVR 86 – POT 86)
Value: £55.4 million (£70.1 million release clause)
One of the best right backs on the game, Dani Carvajal will still be a top player in 2022.
High wages could be off-putting, but the Spaniard’s stats are likely to remain high by the time you can sign him for free.
Raphael Varane (OVR 86 – POT 88)
Value: £65.3 million (£88.9 million release clause)
World Cup winner Raphael Varane is always popular on FIFA with his great defensive, pace and physical attributes.
There will be plenty of interest in Varane when he becomes available on a free, so make sure you get in there quickly.
