F1 2019: Classic cars list announced

Codemasters continue to excite fans with news of F1 2019. Today the list of classic cars available was announced. Which cars will gamers get their hands on?

Formula 1 has a rich and long history of car design and development. The gap between the first F1 cars from the 1950 season and todays cars is astronomical, and each generation of fans have their iconic cars. One of the best things about Codemasters recent F1 games is the amount of classic cars they have been able to pack into the game, each with a different feel and sound to the modern machines. Their availability in online races and mini-challenges in career mode means you have more of a chance to drive them, and for F1 2019 they are taking it another step further.

“Every year we make great strides so the game is as authentic and immersive as possible and we have surpassed expectations with the quality of the visuals in F1 2019,” said Lee Mather, F1 Game Director at Codemasters. “We also know from fan feedback the classic cars our community want to race and we hope the returning roster, alongside the new vehicles from the Legends and Anniversary editions, will give them the choices they crave.”

F1 2019 will feature every one of the classic cars F1 2018 had. That list includes the 1976 Ferrari and McLaren cars that powered the Niki Lauda-James Hunt rivalry, two of Ayrton Senna’s championship-winning McLarens, the 1972 Lotus of Emerson Fittipaldi as well as more modern cars. The amazing 2004 Ferrari of Michael Schumacher is back along with the 2006 Renault of Fernando Alonso. The mighty 2009 Brawn and 2010 Red Bull also make a return.

New for F1 2019 will be the 1990 Ferrari F1-90 and 1990 McLaren MP4/5B. These two were driven by Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna and will feature heavily in the new game’s Legends Edition, while for those that buy the Legends Edition or Anniversary Edition there is the 2010 Ferrari F10 and 2010 McLaren MP4-25 as well. Here is the full list. We can’t wait to take them to the track when the game is released on 28th June, 2019.
