EA Sports FC 24 Cover: Mbappe could be replaced as face of the franchise

EA Sports FC 24 will signal the start of a new era in the world of football gaming, with EA splitting away from FIFA.

The start of this brand-new era will no doubt bring new and exciting innovations, both in and outside of the game.

One such change could be on the cover of the game, with PSG star Kylian Mbappe potentially set to be dethroned.

Everyone is expecting PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe to remain on top after it was rumoured that the French international had signed a multi-year deal with EA in 2020.

However, we're not sure if the change of name and franchise has affected the terms of that deal, meaning EA could have the chance to pivot and select a new face for their franchise.

For FIFA 23, Mbappe was joined by Chelsea Women's Sam Kerr on the Ultimate Edition, who made history as the first female player to feature on a global FIFA cover.

Pioneering the women's game in the electronic sphere, a certain expansion of the women's game in EA Sports FC 24 could suggest that yet another female star could feature on the cover, with Sam Kerr's return also a distinct possibility.

A recognisable face who could become the focal point of EA's WSL expansion, we think Kelly has a great chance of leading the franchise into a new era.

Jude Bellingham

Mbappe and Haaland are already firmly established as two of the best players in their positions, but another youngster is steadily gaining that reputation.

Jude Bellingham is expected to make a money-spinning move in 2023, with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool all vying for his signature.

Bellingham's stock is at an all-time high and his general likability could be a perfect way for EA to select an exciting new star to lead their franchise into the next chapter.

EA Sports FC 24 Editions

We're not certain if EA Sports FC 24 will release in the same way that previous FIFA games have done, with different editions offering unique perks at varying price points.

Mbappe was the sole cover star on the worldwide FIFA 23 Standard Edition, with a solo Sam Kerr special edition available in Australia and New Zealand.

The two of them featured together on the Ultimate Edition and we would love to see that again, or potentially even expand the faces involved.

We would expect multiple editions to be released for EA Sports FC 24 to be released, in line with EA's strategy, but this could all change.
