Latest - Expect Queues at Launch
When big new expansions release in Destiny 2, the servers tend to struggle.
Long wait times and queues are pretty common place for the game, so don't expect to get into the Witch Queen content right away.

LIVE UPDATES - Server Maintenance
Destiny 2's The Witch Queen update, will go live on February 22, 2022.
Before then, the game's servers have gone down for maintenance so that Bungie can prepare for it. Below are the times the servers will be offline from.
- February 21, 2022, 6:45 p.m. PST
- February 21, 2022, 9:45 p.m. EST
- February 22, 2022, 2:45 a.m. GMT
After this maintenance begins, Destiny 2 servers will be down for another 15 hours before The Witch Queen finally goes live at 12pm EST on February 22, 2022.
Some of the new content in The Witch Queen update will be F2P; however, players interested in the new campaign will need to purchase the DLC.
Preload options will be available right after the downtime starts on all platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Stadia, and PC.
PS4 players also need to make sure all base game content is installed when they preload the Witch Queen update.
The Witch Queen
The Witch Queen is going to be the second part of a four-chapter story that will take place in Destiny 2 over the next several years.
Beyond Light was the first chapter, The Witch Queen will continue with the story, with Lightfall expected to follow up in 2023. After this, the conclusion for this Destiny 2 Saga is still currently unknown.
The upcoming campaign will focus on Ikora and Eris while they follow Savathun to her world. It seems Savathun can harness the Light for her and her brood. Savathun has decided to form a hive army with similar power to the Guardians.
Spartans will assist to unravel the truth, traveling deep into the Throne World of Savathun to find out what is the ultimate plan of this mighty foe.
