When does Destiny 2's Solstice of Heroes Event kick off today?

If you're wondering what Bungie are pulling together for Destiny 2 this Summer, you'll be pleased to know that the Solstice of Heroes is back! As an event, it's a two-fold experience that is a celebration of the players and all that they have lost while also being essentially a highly rewarding "boss run".

As always, the team behind Destiny 2 has shared some information as to when they plan to start Maintenance for Destiny 2 and update the servers with the new Solstice of Heroes content.

Below, we have everything you need to know about the exact times you need to keep in mind for a Solstice of Heroes countdown:

• Maintenance Begins
  • 09:00 PST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 BST
• Players Removed From Activities, Destiny 2 Brought Offline
  • 09:45 PST / 12:45 EST / 17:45 BST
• Update 3.2.1 Added, Players Can Log Back In Once Downloaded
  • 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 18:00 BST
• Maintenance Expected To Conclude
  • 11:00 PST / 14:00 EST / 19:00 BST

These times are subject to change, but the only issue might be that Server Maintenance continues for a little while. Bungie is pretty good at this kind of thing nowadays.

Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes Release Date

Destiny's latest event begins on July 6th. You can check out the Solstice of Heroes trailer right here to see some of what you can expect to see.

This event officially ends on August 3rd, so make sure to get everything done nice and early to avoid missing out on some goodies.

What Is the Solstice of Heroes Event?

Solstice of Heroes has players take part in hunts using specific elements to earn themselves some nice unique rewards. It's a great way of getting your hands on rare weapons and unique gear.

According to the official press release: "Each day of the month-long event will be assigned an element. Guardians will need to match their attacks with the daily element in order to charge one of four unique elemental buffs. On Prism days, Guardians can charge all four buffs, but can only activate one at a time.

Armor, Weapons, & Rewards

In addition to the upgradable class-specific Solstice armor, this year's Solstice of Heroes introduces a new Legendary Shotgun, Exotic Ghost Shell, emblem, and Solstice Packages filled with goodies.

Eververse offers up glowing universal ornaments for Silver or Bright Dust, matched to the Guardian's equipped subclass. New ships, Sparrows, and cosmetics will also be up for collection!"
