Few games could make the case for needing cross-play functionality more than Destiny 2. It is something that fans have been clamouring for ever since the game launched, and thankfully, Bungie has been listening
While the feature will only be initially tested in a beta form, if all goes well, the feature should go live for good once all the kinks have been worked out. Let's take a look at everything you need to know about the upcoming crossplay event.
Destiny 2 Crossplay Beta - Everything You Need to Know
The beta will run from May 25 through May 27 and is available to all Destiny 2 players, regardless of whether you are playing on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam or Stadia. This is cross-play we are talking about, after all!
How to Play
Cross-play will only be active on a unique Vanguard Strike Crossplay Playlist for the duration of the beta. That means PVE only for the time being, while Bungie monitors the situation and makes sure their servers can handle the load.
It should be noted that you will be unable to invite friends or form your own Fireteam while playing in the Vanguard Strike Cross-play Playlist.
This is due to Bungie's need to specifically test their matchmaking systems during the event, which are no doubt going to be under significant strain.
After all, how often does something as monumental as crossplay come to a game as big as Destiny 2?
The Destiny 2 Crossplay beta Vanguard Strike Playlist will run from May 25 through to May 27. Do your part and jump in!
