Today, June 21, PlayStation has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 is back on the PlayStation Store, having been removed back in December.
The date had been revealed a few days ago, but it has now been confirmed via an official PlayStation tweet.
Cyberpunk 2077 Returns to PlayStation Store
The platform holder says: "Cyberpunk 2077 is now available at PlayStation Store. Work on the PS4 version continues, with fixes and updates to be released throughout the year: https://play.st/3xFRCtB For the best experience on PlayStation, playing on PS4 Pro or PS5 consoles is recommended."
As you can see, they still don't recommend playing on base PlayStation 4 consoles, due to performance.
If you can, and still want to play the game, play Cyberpunk 2077 one a PS4 Pro or PS5 console via backwards compatibility.
Hopefully we'll see the 1.3 update soon, so that significant upgrades are made to performance on all platforms.
CD Project Red Statement
CDPR have also commented on the game returning to the PlayStation Store. They say:
"#Cyberpunk2077 is now back on the PlayStation Store. You can play the game on PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5. Additionally, a free next gen upgrade will be available for all owners of the PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 in the second half of 2021."
"Users may continue to experience some performance issues with the PS4 edition while we continue to improve stability across all platforms. The PS4 Pro and PS5 versions of the game will provide the best experience on PlayStation."
As they say, a next-gen upgrade will be coming later in 2021, but when exactly that will be is yet to be confirmed.
