Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been thirsting after Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand for some time, but he isn't a romanceable option in the game.
Now, with Cyberpunk 2077's official modding tools, players have taken matters into their own hands.
Cyberpunk 2077: CD Projekt Red blocks Keanu Reeves sex mod
User Catmino created a special mod hosted on Nexus Mods (via Eurogamer) that allowed for players to swap skin textures onto other models, including Johnny Silverhand.
This meant that players could swap out Johnny's skin with a sex worker named a "joytoy" and essentially have a sexual encounter with Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand.
The mod doesn't replace everything, nor does it give the joytoy Johnny's lines.
It's not an especially convincing reproduction of what having sex with Johnny Silverhand might be like, but it's enough for some viewers to get a kick out of it.
Even so, CD Projekt Red reportedly contacted Catmino to remove the mod, disallowing users to engage in sexual content with Silverhand's model.
Cyberpunk 2077: No sex mods or model swaps wanted
CD Projekt Red offered reasoning for its reaching out to have the mod removed from Nexus Mods when reached by PC Gamer.
"Our most important rule regarding user-generated content, game mods in particular, is that it can’t be harmful towards others," CDPR wrote.
"In the case of model swaps, especially those that involve explicit situations, it can be perceived as such by the people who lent us their appearance for the purpose of creating characters in Cyberpunk 2077."
It's likely the outcome would have been the same even if this didn't involve Keanu Reeves, but it looks like protecting that relationship is tantamount to CDPR going forward.
If you were looking forward to having sex with Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077, those dreams have unfortunately been dashed.
