The fifth season of Black Ops Cold War integrated content with Warzone has just begun and it marks a low point in the game's short but exciting history. There really isn't much to look forward to, despite the fact Raven Software finally adding things that sound exciting. Verdansk '84 doesn't do Warzone justice and the lack of a dedicated Anti-Cheat system is pushing a lot of players away.

Warzone Season 5 is out now and here's the latest...

Raven Software release Patch Notes

At the last moment, Raven Software decided to release their Season 5 Patch Notes. This isn't surprising, but it is a little annoying.

You can find the full set of Patch Notes from Raven Software here.

There's nothing too surprising included, other than the following:

  • High Alert Perk Changes - Can now detect Dead Silence;
  • Ascender Changes - Players can now detach from an ascender before reaching their destination;
  • Armor Box Changes - New icon to make a clear difference between this and Ammo Box;
  • [REDACTED] - [REDACTED] is headed to [REDACTED] to stop [REDACTED] finishing [REDACTED].

Warzone Season 5 Release Time

Warzone Season 4 was extended by 24 hours and this means Season 5 launched later than expected at the following times:

  • 9pm on August 12th - PST
  • Midnight August 13th - EST
  • 5am August 13th - BST

Update Size for Season 5

With Warzone Season 5 coming a day later, players will have time to make some space for the upcoming update. It's going to set you back around 20GB, depending on the platform. This is a bit of an increase if you compare it to the usual 10GB-15GB downloads we see. We can only assume that this is in preparation for the midseason event...

What to Expect in Warzone Season 5

There were rumours that the Season 5 delay was due to Activision wanting to implement an anti-cheating system into Warzone, but that doesn't seem like it's the case.

Warzone's latest update includes new Operators - Stryker, Kitsune, Hudson - and a few new weapons - the EM2 Assault Riffle, Tec-9 SMG, Cane melee weapon and the Marshall Secondary.

Warzone is also getting two new perks, though. Combat Scout (Squad Reconnaissance) and Tempered (Changing how armour works).
