Warzone's Season 6 update is finally here and there's a lot to look forward to in the next couple of months. Raven Software's latest Patch Notes share details on the new map changes that have been made to Verdansk '84, but they also mention a new Playlist: "Scopes and Scatterguns".

This might be something you've seen in Warzone before, but "Scopes and Scatterguns" is back in Season 6 with a few new twists. Here's what you need to know.

SCOPES AND SCATTERGUNS - What to know

Warzone's "Scopes and Scatterguns" is back and it's going to keep its core ruleset - that being, you can only use Shotguns and Snipers. This iteration is going to include Crossbows, too - but that's basically the same as a Sniper, right?

The Season 6 Patch Notes have detailed the following in regards to rule updates, however. It's worth knowing what's going on:

  • Rebirth Resurgence
    • "Scopes and Scatterguns" builds on a map and ruleset combination we know and love - Rebirth Resurgence.
      • This means we're not going to be playing this mode on Verdansk '84 at all - or at least at the moment.
  • Limited Loot
    • The loot table will only include Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, and Crossbows. Aim true, Operator.
      • There is no word on Tacticals and Lethals yet - or Field Upgrades. However, we can imagine that it'll be a Throwing Knife or Tomahawk situation.

BETTER THAN IRON TRIALS? - What do you think?
  • No Loadouts
    • No free Loadout Drops and no purchasable Loadout in the Buy Station either!
      • This means you're going to need to scavenge for all your weapons and equipment - it also means no Perks for anyone.
  • Updated Starting Weapon
    • The 1911 isn't exactly a Shotgun... So, Players will spawn in with the Marshal instead.
