Warzone Error Code 47: How to fix this game-breaking issue

There are a lot of great things happening with Warzone at the moment - they're just, sadly, overshadowed by the monumental performance issues and game-breaking bugs that seem to always keep appearing. If you have tried to play Warzone on a next-gen console - a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series X|S - and been met with Error Code 47, you'll know what we mean.

Here's everything we know about Error Code 47 and how you can try to fix Warzone.

How to fix Warzone Error Code 47

Warzone's Error Code 47 - also known as SPAN - has been completely crashing the title on next-gen consoles. It's one of the worst issues Warzone is facing right now - but, thankfully, there's a workaround that should help you get back into a game.

It isn't as simple as restarting your console, but here's what you need to do...

  • Turn off your console and launch it in "safe mode"
    • On PlayStation, you do this by holding down the power button until it beeps.
    • On Xbox, you do this by holding the power button and the eject button until you hear two beeps - one should happen ten seconds after the first.
  • Select the "rebuild database" option and let this scan through and repair your system.

NEVER ESCAPE - It feels like the bugs are always going to be creeping up on us!

With any luck, this will be the end of things and you'll be able to launch Warzone without Error Code 47. However, it might not be...

If this doesn't work, then you're going to need to check out the following steps...

  • Head to your System Storage and select the "Save Data" for Warzone
  • Delete the Warzone "Save Data" and then restart your console.

If this still isn't working, then you might need to completely uninstall and re-install Warzone on your console. This is a pain and Warzone isn't the smallest download, but this will ensure that you're downloading the latest version of Warzone that should be fully complete and working.

Of course, dropping a message to Activision Support might be a good idea - but response times are slow at the best of times. These steps should help you get back into a game on Caldera faster.
