You could briefly buy the Crossbow in Warzone

The R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow was first released in Black Ops Cold War at the start of Season 2, with it theoretically coming to Warzone later in the season.

Now, the weapon has been accidentally listed as part of a bundle in Cold War and Warzone, before being removed.

Crossbow Store Bundle

On March 18, a bundle called Archaic Range was released into the stores on both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

Players could purchase it, but they weren't able to equip the Crossbow into loadouts on either game.

The crossbow was previously only useable in the Fireteam mode of Black Ops Cold War, so this'll be the first time you can use it in battle royale and standard multiplayer.

Why Was It Removed?

The simple answer is that it wasn't supposed to have been pushed live yet.

Activision tweeted about the situation, saying that it has been released "earlier than planned" and that anyone who purchased the bundle will be refunded.

If the ability to actually use it as part of loadouts in either game isn't possible, there's no point in the bundle being live.

When the Crossbow Will Release

As Activision says, "the bundle and in-game challenge will return at a later date."

While they haven't said exactly when that will be, we expect it to be very soon.

The mid-season updates for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War are due to arrive in the next week or so, so we expect it to be added as part of that update.

Since the bundle is clearly ready to be live in game, Activision are probably just waiting for the right moment.

As it's complete and ready to go, you'll probably be able to purchase it legitimately very, very soon.

We'll be sure to update you as soon as it's available and you can actually use the crossbow in matches.
