Modern Warfare gets rare Playlist Update that includes two new maps

Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, and Warzone are all considered to be the "core" Call of Duty titles alongside COD Mobile. Anything before that has, to put it bluntly, been left to slowly die.

For a long time now, Modern Warfare fans have been calling for more content for Infinity Ward's 2019 Call of Duty. The RAAL LMG, CX-9 SMG, and Soap Operator are all long-standing leaks at this point.

Thankfully, slowly and surely, Modern Warfare 2019 is getting its content. We recently saw the Sykov Sidearm added to the game and now it looks like there are two new Modern Warfare maps to play with while we wait.

Modern Warfare Got New Maps?!

We're as surprised as you are, to be honest. We thought Modern Warfare, development-speaking, was dead and buried. It still has a fairly active player-base, all things considered, but with Warzone and Black Ops Cold War on the go... We didn't think Activision cared about Modern Warfare much.

Thankfully, we were wrong and Al-Raab Airbase and Drainage were added as new Modern Warfare maps in the latest Playlist Update for the title.

Al-Raab Airbase 24/7 appears to be replacing Search and Destroy Double Down and Drainage is a smaller map that's been added to Gunfight and Gunfight - Snipers Only.

NEVER A BAD THING - We can imagine it was added in an effort to keep things fresh for Modern Warfare players...

We knew Infinity Ward still had an eye on Modern Warfare, but this bodes well for fans who want to see Soap added to the game.
