Modern Warfare 2 is now almost ready for Season 2, and the new season will be the biggest update we've seen yet. New weapons and new maps have been announced, as well as rebirth making a return to Warzone 2 after months of waiting, to shake up the meta.
Terminal was one of the most popular maps of MW3 back in 2011, and lots of teasers have suggested that it will be arriving in the newest Call of Duty. Here's everything we know so far about if and when it's dropping and how you can play it.
Is Terminal coming back in Modern Warfare 2?
Fortunately, we have a pretty good idea that Terminal will be arriving in multiplayer sometime in the future. Thanks to leaks, as well as its appearance in Al Mazrah, it seems that much of the groundwork for a remastered Terminal is already in place.
The map can be found at the Airport POI in Warzone 2, and bears striking resemblance to the original. The only notable absence is some aesthetics, including the plane, but we can expect this to change for a multiplayer release.
Terminal would join other iconic maps returning to Modern Warfare 2, including Shoot House and Shipment this season. Highrise is also likely to make an appearance, but no date has been set for it just yet.
Modern Warfare 2 Terminal Release Date
Unfortunately, no date has been set for the return of Terminal in the latest Call of Duty. A precedent has now been set for original maps arriving with new seasons, however, so keep your fingers crossed for Season 2 early next year.
A revival of Terminal and more in Modern Warfare 2 would be a fantastic addition to the map pool. Its release seems even more likely with the nostalgia the game has brought already, in the remastered Campaign and beyond.
