Mauer Der Toten is finally here and it's another decent addition to Black Ops Cold War's Zombies content. It might not be the best Zombies map we've ever played on, but it is far from the worst. One of the saving graces is the Main Quest and Easter Egg.
It doesn't feel like there's as much to do than other maps, but don't let that fool you. Mauer Der Toten has a few secrets up its sleeve...
LATEST - Bunny Part Locations
If you're looking for the next "Coffin Dance" Easter Egg, Mauer Der Toten's can be accessed by finding Bunny Parts scattered around the map. Here's the location of each of the five parts.
- Sewer Access; Near broken wood pallette
- Department Store; On the shelving next to Wunderfizz Machine
- Bar; In a booth next to Jugger-Nog
- Alley; Next to a stack of tires
- Hotel Room 304; On the desk in the room
Once you find all of these, you should be teleported into the Easter Egg area and away from Mauer Der Toten. There are rewards to be had... But at a cost.
Quick-Fire Step-By-Step Guide
We don't want to spoil everything, but here's what you need to know if you want to complete the Mauer Der Toten Easter Egg. You're going to need Klaus, the Wonder Weapon, and a little bit of skill.
Step One: Rebuild Klaus and get the CRBR-S Wonder Weapon, by any means.
Step Two: Use Klaus to break the Sewer Wall and use the CRBR-S Particle Beam Variant Mode to melt the metal plating on the wall.
Step Three: Clear out the Hidden Sewer Room and shoot the larger Shielded Object with the Wonder Weapon.
Step Four: Pick up the Canisters and then shoot the object to your right to get Essence Traps, first seen in Firebase Z.
Step Five: Place the Canisters on "Green boxes" around Mauer Der Toten. This will spawn Tempests. Use Essence Traps to fill each Canister. Take these back to where you found them.
Step Six: Use Klaus to stop the Flaming Train. You can do this by placing him on the track farthest away from the Control Room and activating the switch to call the Train. Klaus will need to be fully upgraded to achieve this.
Step Seven: Go inside the stopped Flaming Train and collect the Keycard and Warhead.
Step Eight: Take the Warhead back to the Hidden Sewer Room and place it with the filled Canisters.
Step Nine: Use the Computer in the Safe House. Activate the Keycard several times and then press the Satellite Button.
Step Ten: Kill the Megaton that spawns and take the dropped Uranium Rocks to the workbench near the Trials Machine.
Step Eleven: Cleanse the Uranium Rocks by placing them either side of the Zipline.
Step Twelve: Attach the Cleansed Uranium Rocks to the Warhead and complete the First Boss Fight.
Step Thirteen: Defend Klaus to trigger the Final Cutscene.
Getting The Wonder Weapon Is The First Step
Of course, it's the first step. Both Die Maschine and Firebase Z have Main Quest Easter Egg tasks that require the Wonder Weapon, why would Mauer Der Toten be any different?
You can check out everything you need to know about unlocking the CRBR-S Wonder Weapon below ahead of the Main Quest start time in a few hours time.
Step Two: Use Control Radio to signal Klaus and move him into the Switch Control Room, near the Train Tracks.
Step Three: Use Control Radio to signal Klaus to open Locker #0 and retrieve the Blacklight Flashlight from within.
Step Four: Use the Blacklight Flashlight to find the hidden Safe Combination around Mauer Der Toten. The relevant rooms are labelled with a 1, 2, or 3 circled on the wall.
Step Four (a): The first Safe Combination number is in the Garment Factory, on the wall beside the staircase.
Step Four (b): The second Safe Combination number is in the Service Passage under the East Berlin Streets on the eastern wall.
Step Four (c): The third Safe Combination number is in Bauers Laden, the Grocery Store. Head to the opposite corner to the main door to find it on the wall.
Step Five: Find the Safe in Hotel Room 305 and input the code.
Once you do this, all you need to step back and the Safe should open up to reveal the CRBR-S for you (as shown above).
When Does The Mauer Der Toten Easter Egg Start?
We all know that Mauer Der Toten is due to release on July 15th, but when does the Easter Egg start? In the past, Treyarch has been known to delay the release (or, more accurately, the activation) of the Easter Egg when they release a new map.
Thankfully, Treyarch has shared that much with us in their recent update on Mauer Der Toten.
The Mauer Der Toten Easter Egg hunt is due to begin at 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 18:00 BST on July 15th. This is only a handful of hours after the map comes out and should give you a chance to explore before diving into things properly.
In addition to this, we also got a new Gameplay Trailer which you can check out below:
Do We Know Anything Else Yet?
Well... No. Treyarch want to keep this a secret, right? All we can do is speculate and we have a funny feeling the Mauer Der Toten Easter Egg is going to require the new Wonder Weapon.
In Die Maschine and Firebase Z, both Easter Egg quests have needed the Wonder Weapon at some stage of the process. You don't need to necessarily use it, but more often than not that is a step semi-involved with the Main Quest laid out by Treyarch.
We don't know what's going to happen in Mauer Der Toten, but we're confident in hedging our bets that the new CRBR-S Wonder Weapon is going to be involved.
