Sledgehammer Games' upcoming Call of Duty title is going to feature one of the largest Call of Duty multiplayer launches to date - however, what does this mean for the playlists available at launch? We know there's going to be around twenty multiplayer maps to play on, but what modes should we prepare for?
Here's everything you need to know about the core modes coming to Vanguard when it launches in November...
Launch playlists - Team Deathmatch, Free for All, and more
Vanguard's multiplayer is going to introduce a total of fourteen playlists at launch - these will be split evenly between standard and hardcore variations.
- Core Multiplayer Modes
- Free for All
- Team Deathmatch
- Kill Confirmed
- Domination
- Search and Destroy
- Hardpoint
- Patrol [NEW for Vanguard]
- Hardcore Multiplayer Modes
- HC Free for All
- HC Team Deathmatch
- HC Kill Confirmed
- HC Domination
- HC Search and Destroy
- HC Hardpoint
- HC Patrol [NEW for Vanguard]
Sledgehammer Games has also confirmed that there's going to be additional modes post-launch but has not yet explained what these might be.

We are under the impression that Champion Hill will be available at launch, too. However, this will be a slightly different set of playlists as it's a unique game mode played on a unique four-part map.
Champion Hill will be available in the following variations:
- Champion Hill Solo
- Champion Hill Duos
- Champion Hill Trios
" Earn Cash by picking up drops, eliminating enemies, and winning rounds, then spend it on upgrading weaponry or getting new armaments, equipment, Perks, or tide-turning Killstreaks."
Champion Hill is the evolution of Call of Duty's Gunfight tournaments, however, we should expect to see these make an appearance in the future. Other modes like Capture the Flag, Prop Hunt, Gun Game, Demolition, and more will likely appear in future updates.
Vanguard Season 1 starts on December 2nd - expect news before then.
