After the success of 2019's reboot of the Modern Warfare series, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that we would be seeing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 again before long.

While we got an official announcement of the game's existence from the Call of Duty Twitter page, Modern Warfare 2 has yet to have a reveal beyond its logo. Fans apparently won't have to wait too much longer to get their CoD fix. here's what we know.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to be Revealed in June

According to writer Tom Henderson in a report via Exputer, several sources have been in touch suggesting the reveal to be coming in the form of a campaign-focused trailer with a multiplayer reveal set for August.

Gameplay footage of the campaign is expected to be shown "at an event where E3 was meant to be" according to Henderson's sources, which presumably means a reveal at some point during Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest.

While there is no exact date confirmed for the reveal, the main date being floated about right was June 2 but this has since been confirmed as incorrect. Instead, the speculated gameplay reveal could take place at Summer Game Fest which begins on June 9.

Extra info from the Exputer report claims that an extraction-based game mode called the "DMZ" is set to make its debut in Modern Warfare 2 which is the Escape From Tarkov inspired mode. While information surrounding Call of Duty Warzone 2 is slim right now it's speculated that it could release within weeks of Modern Warfare 2.
