Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Is A 147GB Install On Xbox Series X/PS5

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launched earlier this week, the next entry in the yearly franchise.

Zombies has made a return, something that makes fans happy.

The popular Battle Royale mode Warzone is also implemented into Black Ops Cold War too, meaning fans can jump back into their favourite Battle Royale while enjoying the new game.

Install Size

It has been confirmed that Black Ops Cold War takes up a staggering 147GB of storage on the PS5 and 135GB on the Xbox Series X|S.

This is a large amount of space, especially when looking at the available storage on the new consoles.

The Xbox Series X comes with 802GB of usable storage, while the PS5 comes with slightly less at 667GB.

It uses almost half of the Xbox Series S' total storage, which has just 364GB of usable storage.

That is a lot of your hard drive to sacrifice for one game, but this is something we will see more and more of.

In recent years we've started to see games take up 100GB+.

Games like Red Dead Redemption 2 are a shining example, and with graphics looking better than ever and games getting bigger, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them start to top 200GB in the near future.

As of right now there is no way to expand the PS5 storage capacity.

In the future there will be support for select NVME drives that have the correct read/write speeds.

You can purchase an expansion drive for the Xbox Series X|S, but they will set you back $219 for a 1TB drive.

Nuke Town Is Returning!

Keyboard and Mouse Support

It has long been argued that keyboard and mouse is the best way to play FPS games.

But, if you don't have a PC capable of playing the games then you're stuck with a controller.

Some players choose to use a keyboard and mouse while playing on console, when allowed.

Call Of Duty is a game that does support the input option on console and it is confirmed that Black Ops Cold War will also support it.

In a blog post by Sony titled “PS5: The Ultimate FAQ” it was confirmed that keyboard and mouse will be supported on the Playstation 5.

“Yes, USB and Bluetooth keyboards and mice are supported at a system level, though game developers will decide whether to support at a game level.”

Not all games will support keyboard and mouse though and the decision to include it as an input method lies with the development team.

The keyboard and mouse can be connected through either Bluetooth or USB.

The console comes with both a USB-C and USB-A port so most modern keyboards will work.
