Another Black Ops Cold War update is on the way as we reach the halfway point for Season 5 - Season 5 Reloaded is arriving next week and there's a new weapon coming to Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. We don't know how we feel about this one, to be honest...
UPDATED - Every New Season 5 Weapon
Sai Melee Weapon
" Hundreds of years ago, it was introduced to the island of Okinawa and eventually became adopted by the local police to aid in arresting criminals. For an outlaw like Kitsune, who grew up nearly 1,200 kilometres away in Kobe, wielding one is an irony she relishes."
It will be unlockable via an in-game challenge during the upcoming Numbers event.
" Full-auto assault rifle. Well-rounded British rifle with good firing control. Built-in low-zoom optic improves accuracy. Slower fire rate with reliable range."
" Semi-auto submachine gun. Improved accuracy from longer ranges with low recoil and slower fire rate. Good damage output with moderate range."
" Give your enemies a proper sorting with a quick swing from this new melee weapon, which can knock them unconscious after a crack upside the bonce."
" Break action pistol. Hand loaded double barrel pistol fires 12-gauge shells. Excellent damage at close range with a 1-shot kill potential."
The EM2, TEC-9, and Cane will all be available at the start of Season 5 and available in Store Bundles with the relevant Weapon Blueprints. The Marshal will be available later in the season, possibly during the mid-season update coming in October.
When does Season 5 come out?
UPDATE: Season 5 has now started and this means that the EM2 Assault Rifle, TEC-9 SMG, and Cane melee weapon will all be available in-game. Expect to hear more about the Marshal soon.
Black Ops Cold War Season 5 is due to release on August 12th. We were under the impression that Season 4 would end on August 10th, so expect an extension to the current season to bridge the gap between the two dates.
Specifically, Season 5 should start around 21:00 PST on August 11th and at 00:00 EST / 05:00 BST on August 12th. This is subject to change, but Treyarch rarely changes their update schedules and this is the same time of the day that Season 4 and the Season 4 Reloaded content launched.
You should be able to preload the Black Ops Cold War Season 5 update at least a day before. We expect to hear more about this closer to the release date.
