Black Ops Cold War Season 5 adds two new game modes to Treyarch's shooter

Black Ops Cold War Season 5 has added a lot of new content to Treyarch's shooter. There's new multiplayer maps, Operators, and weapons. However, one of the major talking points is actually the two new game modes Season 5 is introducing. There's going to be a fan-favourite Call of Duty classic and another which could either be amazing or... Well, awful. Here's everything we know now that Season 5 is out.

Season 5 introduces two more game modes...

Double Agent - Launch

The new Double Agent mode has been compared to Among Us and GMOD's Trouble in Terrorist Town online following its announcement. This is the first of the new Season 5 game modes and here's what it's all about:

" The new Double Agent mode infiltrates into Season Five, an investigative Multiplayer party experience where each match assigns Double Agents who are there to sabotage the mission. Communicate, investigate, and expose the traitors – or successfully wipe out the investigating team – to win."

Each role - Investigator, Double Agent, Operative - has access to different equipment and abilities. You have no choice but to work together if you want to come out on top. However, you'll need to keep your wits about you...

Demolition - In-Season

If you're a Call of Duty veteran, you're going to know all about Demolition already. Demolition is one of those series staple game modes you expected to already be available; On the whole, it's a welcome addition to Season 5.

" Two teams battle it out as attackers attempt to destroy a pair of active bombsites, while defenders must prevent the detonations. All-out chaos ensues when time is extended after the first bomb site is destroyed, and you’d better be prepared with plenty of Scorestreaks and squadmates for backup should one final bomb be planted at the last second."

When does Season 5 start?

The next major Call of Duty update is out now and we can't wait to get started. Season 5's content, including the new game modes like Double Agent, will be available from August 12th at the following times:

• 21:00 August 12th - PST
• 00:00 August 13th - EST
• 05:00 August 13th - BST

There's going to be a handful of new multiplayer maps, a couple of new weapons to get to grips with, and a few new Operators too. Season 5 could be the penultimate season of Black Ops Cold War content with "Call of Duty 2021" on the horizon... So, make the most of it while it lasts.
