The long-awaited Season 3 update is almost here for Black Ops Cold War. Treyarch is keeping tight-lipped about what's in-store, but we do have a new cinematic trailer that continues the story being told through post-campaign seasonal updates.
LATEST - "Intel Point To Verdansk"
We know that Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare take place in the same timeline (thanks, Zakhaev), but now that seems to be more obvious than ever. The cross-progression between Warzone and Black Ops Cold War is now being taken further as we learn that Adler is in Verdansk.
Below, you can check out the next Black Ops Cold War cinematic ahead of Season 3.
As you can see, Woods' efforts in Laos were not rewarded. However, now they know that Adler's headed to Verdansk.
This seems to confirm the fact that Warzone is headed back to 80s Verdansk and the gradual transition from a Modern Warfare-based BR to a Black Ops-based BR is almost complete.
Warzone Event Could Be A Clue
Due to cross-progression, we know that both Black Ops Cold War Season 3 and Warzone Season 3 should start at the same time on the same day.
It's due to start on April 21st at 12:00 PST / 15:00 EST / 20:00 BST. This is a bit later in the day than the usual title updates go live, however, that doesn't mean it couldn't be the start date for Season 3.
We don't know for sure but it will most likely either be on April 21st or a week later on April 28th. We're inclined to lean towards the sooner date, but things can be pushed back and have been before.
Black Ops Cold War Season 3 Release Date
If we want to know when Season 3 is going to begin in Black Ops Cold War, there's one place to look: Season Two.
The current Battle Pass is due to expire on April 21st. With this in mind, we are expecting Black Ops Cold War Season 3 to release on April 22nd, or a week after that date on April 29th.
On occasion, Treyarch has been known to throw a week of "downtime" between Call of Duty Seasons, however, with everything going on we're not sure that they will this time.
If they did want to delay any new content dropping they could still do that quite easily alongside launching Season 3 for Black Ops Cold War straight after the conclusion of Season 3.
Season 2 Reloaded added a lot of fantastic content and you feel like Treyarch are trying to keep the pace high going into their next major title update.
