After an 18-month wait since Assassin's Creed Odyssey, we finally have definitive news on its sequel - Assassin's Creed Valhalla!
After a setting reveal, we know the new game will be set in the time of the Vikings, with Ubisoft not stopping there with a first reveal trailer arriving soon.
Trailer Release Date
Thanks to a Tweet from @AssassinsCreed, we know the official reveal trailer for Valhalla will be released on Thursday, 30 April.
This will be on their social channel 11am ET / 4pm BST.
The live stream has already started:
Location
This is not 100% confirmed, but expect various locations - over land and sea - during the Viking age.
The "live" reveal image showed us Vikings battling English soldiers, or so it is believed, which suggests a possible Saxon invasion.
A NEW AGE - Get riding to ride with the Vikings in Valhalla
We're expecting stunning Scandinavian scenery, challenging North Sea waters, as well as the rolling hills of Scotland and Northern England.
Weapons & Ships
With what we presume to be the protagonist yielding a glorious axe, we can't wait to hack-and-slash our way through some Saxon templars.
SETTING SAIL - A return to sea-based missions will go down a hit with fans
We can also see that there is likely to be water-based missions, which will come to the excitement of many Black Flag (& Rogue) fans.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla Release Date
The game has no official release date as of yet, but that could change after the reveal trailer.
It is expected to arrive this autumn, before the release of Next Gen consoles.
It is rumoured for release on Tuesday, 29 September, according to TrustedReviews.
Next Gen Consoles - PS5 & Xbox Series X
The same article from TrustedReviews suggests that the game will appear on Next Gen also.
Don't expect this to be from launch for PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X, but perhaps a remaster of some sort in the new year of 2021.
